Atmosphere plans for Pompey home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Is it Arsenal branded? If so, I'll never use it as I really don't want to be singled out as Engerlish if any plane I'm on is hijacked by stab-happy Islamic fundamentalists!

"Ishmael. This pig is Arsenal."
"Engerlish team? American war lacky. Chop his head off, Abdul."

Nah, fuck that. :(

Perhaps they're hoping that this one won't be a 9 minute wonder?

I'm not saying its a great idea, but its a start. And if it actually starts getting us singing and generating the atmosphere that we all want but no-one seems to be able to produce then hats off.
Thing is, only 40000 are season ticket holders, which means there's going to be at a few 1000 who will take their scarves home, never to return to AG again.

Besides, scarf waving looks really really gay. And it doesn't make you sing.

Agreed, scarf waving is very gay!

It also makes people wonder why the fuck you are waving a scarf in September? Who has a scarf in September for gods sake?

If the are going to give away scarves can I suggest the natty little numbers Paul Smith do please.

The whole scarf bollocks is a bit European and Northern too isn't it? Why are we aping the Mousers all the time? The fucking "Anthem" load of bollocks is just that; a load of bollocks. Arsenal are a London team, not a "homely" Northern team... it just doesn't feel right... :banghead:

I just love mexican waves, especially when you dip them in salsa and guacamole!

Seconded! We complain that the atmosphere is shite, the moan when someone tries to do something about it!! No-one can agree what the solution is so I guess we'll have to try a number of things.

Agreed with the Mexican Waves, they're fucking *****.

Have to agree with Flash and NBM. Last season when the Chavs did something similar there were loads on here moaning that Arsenal never do something like that.

Even if it makes a small difference its worth it. You never know you might get loads to copy the jumping up and down waving the scarf bit in the Eduardo song.

Any way myself and Chippy Jnr are going to a wedding that day (again :banghead: :banghead: ) so will take your's off you if you like.

The club won't take real steps to improve the atmosphere, therefore they make these "corporate" gestures so that everything looks good on TV and for the bigwigs sitting in their fancy seats.

This is the reason I don't like anything like this. Although I will be taking my scarf with me so that I can throw it away so as to prevent the hoardes of mindless idiots who will be collecting the ones left behind ala the CL semi last year.

I am very disullusioned at the moment
