I caught a bit on the radio last night where a reporter was saying that Dunga is doing nearly the opposite with Brazil, picking players that have played well for him in the national side as opposed to playing well for their clubs hence Robiniho being included.
On a side note,
why the outrage with Viera being omitted? He is a former great of this club but he's getting on a bit now and wasn't exactly outstanding this season and, as much as I don't like saying it, he was a bit of a c**t when we played City a few weeks back!
Cos a PV4 on one leg is better than the brainless useless *word censored* that is diaby

PV4 had a poor game and is clearly passed it at the highest level. But no Gooner should ever call this legend a C**t

Not sure how he was a *word censored* anyway

Diaby constantly tried to rape him in the first 30 minutes and how he avoided a booking is anyone's guess and that frustrated the shit out of me so can only imagine how pissed off the shitty players were getting

True but he did have a kick at Song during the game. I respect PV for what he did at this club as much as anyone else but that doesn't give him the right to have a kick at our current players. Love them or loathe them individually they are collectively the current Arsenal team and should be supported, we should not be blinded by our love of ex players to such an extent that we ignore when they do wrong. I'd bet that if it was that other wanker Adebayour that made that tackle there would be a 6 page thread on it.

He's a bit like Flamini (when he was playing at Arsenal), he runs all over the pitch, defends quite well, good aggressivity. But when he's on the ball, he's not very good. He played center back this season at Lyon, and it might be his best position after all ..

sounds like the player we need then. A centre half/ defensive midfielder with a bit of agression. And he's french- wenger might just be tempted...if we could compete financially that it is

Domenech has never selected Pires because it's the worst kept secret in France that Pires used to date Domenech's wife, Estelle Denis, and that Domenech never got over that. he also never selected Trezeguet because he was the first to criticise Domenech at the time.
I agree with Vince that even though I rate Gourcuff very highly, he didn't have his best season this year. he's still the only player that can keep domenech from playing with 3 Dmf in the middle of the park so fair enough.
Who ever said ben arfa deserved his place more than Nasri hasn't watched a lot of Ligue 1 this year. Ben arfa spent half the season on the bench, mainly due to his head being far too up his own arse. Overall he had one or two months where he was good, other than that... That said, nasri hasn't proved he was any better. I hope not being selected for the world cup will give him a boost and make him work harder in the future. I expect more from Nasri next year.
I hope Evra gets injuried because IMO, clichy needs those high profile games to find back his confidence.
Benzema is the same case as Ben arfa. He so up his own arse that he doesn't believe he needs to work. He thought he was the real deal when he was transfered to Real. Ended up as so many other talents, playing 10 games in the season and ending warming the bench. I'd still take him ahead of Henry. Even though Henry is a lengend and always will be, he's nothing short of abyssimal in the french squad since the last euro.
Diaby... errr... I'm gonna get slated for this one, but I'm one of the very few that still rates him. I still think he'll turn out good eventually. More than anything he might be the only alternative to Domenech playing with two Dmf who are unable to get past the middle of the park and have no creativity...
To finish, to answer to the person who asked about Toulalan... I also heard Toulalan was linked with us, and my first reaction was "Oh my..."

have to disagree with you on this one Vince. Even though i agree Toulalan is a hard worker and can defend well, he is nowehere near as fast as Flamini, and he certainly isn't capable of driving the ball forward as quickly as Flamini. Toulalan is a very slow player imo, and technically very limited. His passing abilities are not the best as well.
Oh you guessed it, I don't like the guy. I think he's very valuable for a club like Lyon, but not for us. Song is already ten times what Toulalan will ever be.

That;s a good run-down FG - although I needed to re-read and check that the only guy you rate is Diaby
I think we shoulg do out and get Benzema, Wenger to work his old magic, and Gourcuff as he's slightly more under the radar at the moment - and we have max one season of Fabregas left. Let's get prepared.

I know I said I rated Diaby... It's because of Song who proved me wrong this season.
Benzema I'm not sure, but you're spot on Gourcuff! I've been secretly dreaming of Wenger signing him as I see him as the ideal replacement for Fabregas when he'll leave. Also imo, Gourcuff is the son of French coach Christian, and you can see that this kid has grown with football and has a real footballing brain.
