HANDS UP WHO STILL FANCIES A TAKEOVER !!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

i do not want usmanov getting his hands on OUR CLUB and i dont think thats his plan, from what i read he,s in it 2 make a fast rouble as he feels the club is undervalued. where dein comes in to this i dont know,, its a pity because i still feel dein would hav a lot 2 offer,, but as we dont know all the facts im goin 2 sit on the fence and wait till things become clearer,,

Augie, I think Hleb is a very good players, Cygan has done elsewhere and I think the board are doing a good job. Also, what I'm excited about is the income, not the profit, the income would still be over 200 million even if we had splashed out on Kaka and Cech, just a lot less profit.

I have always said on here that it was Arsene not choosing to spend and the only way you will get that £70 million cash spent is by sacking Arsene. I suspect that with an income of £200 million a season, we will be able to find transfer money from somewhere in the future.

Short to medium term: There's no point changing what we've got, the board's done a good job getting us to where we are and there's more than enough money for the foreseeable future.

Longer term: Augie and Gus have a point, since football economics could move up to another level, which could make having a billionaire sugar daddy a necessity. But that isn't the case now, especially while we've got Wenger who just isn't that sort of manager. If we do need a billionaire, he (or she) should be chosen very, very carefully.

Dein: It's no longer a matter of being for or against him, by selling his shares, he's made himself an irrelevance. If he wants to return to AFC, he has to do it at the bidding of Usmanov or AN Other. I agree with Augie that he contributed a lot to transforming AFC from mid-table nonentities (see the early 1980s and George Graham post 1991) into a genuinely big club playing some of the best footy around, and he deserves credit for that, but he also has to carry the can for his poorer decisions, especially selling to someone like Usmanov.

I'm not so sure about that, There's more to this story than we're being told...
