Some of his co-workers from outside the area were so fearful of being mugged on the five minute walk to The Square (shopping centre) at lunchtime that they’d only travel in groups of four. They soon realised that they were being ridiculous. I wouldn’t hold out the same hope for you. The Tallaght you describe sounds more like Oliver Twist’s London, than the ordinary Dublin suburb it is.

Also, at any away game there’s a chance you’ll come across some idiot who takes exception to your colours, but I’d see the games in Tallaght as being more like a trip to Everton, than one to sp**s or ch€l$ki. You’d be very unlucky to come to grief. I have worked in the Dept of Social Welfare and dealt with some of the scum from Tallaght, particularly West Tallaght. The Social welfare offices out there are known as "Fort Apache, Tallaght". I have a mate who was a cop out there and the things he saw and encountered were sickening. Every day I travel on the LUAS along Abbey Street to and from work and encounter dozens of dirtbags from Tallaght.
