As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I still cant get my brain into this new found importance of the beer cup and preferred it when we used it as a blooding competition for our younger players. Some fans seem to believe that cos manure won it and went onto win the league titles it would have the same experience on our team and instill that winning feeling in our team to bridge that gap but for my mind that totally ignores the weaknesses in our team. Would winning the beer cup make us stronger defensively under the high ball/set pieces ? Will winning the beer cup make us more responsible defensively in midfield ? If anything it will add to an already over confident sector and nobody will sit in midfield as we are soo good we dont have to defend
With this in mind I would rather revert to playing more of the youngsters topped up with the likes of djouru, rosicky and rvp (to gain some match fitness ? In particular I would like to see some gametime for chesney, jet and eastmond to aid their development and to gauge whether they are good enough to make it with our club
