It cost Arsenal £390 million to move and build at Ashburton Grove Stratford hotspurs could get the same for £250 million!!!!
Our stadium cost £225M.
The other costs were the flats we built which made a profit.
stg is right. It cost £390m for the move, with the total coming in at £470m for the "entire project" which i would assume would be the flats and the property development.
I cant believe none of you knows the exact figures for the stadium & the flats, when Martin’s written it on here 3000 times! Have none of you been reading his posts?

Stadium itself cost around £225M according to reports I have read, the rest of the £390M was other projects as detailed below.
The total cost of the entire project is £390 million. This includes the construction of Emirates stadium, a new waste and recycling centre and relocation of local businesses and statutory services."

It doesn't help, but it's not a big reason. A running track doesn't stop the likes of Panathinaikos, AEK, Red Star or Spartak Moscow having a cracking atmosphere.
Andy Beale (West Ham United fan) says...
U spurs lot are very sad, you just wipe your history away in a blinker. You are so desperate to catch arsenal you would move into a rival clubs area?? I think this is the lowest a club can go!! i 100% agree brady needs to keep her mouth shut but so does levy, they are all telling lies, because greed is the most important factor here. these club owners dont care where they send supporters as long as you are paying your £40 ticket each and making them money. i dont particular want west ham to go to stratford but to have you lot within 3 miles of us, are you sure!!! Get some self respect and stay where you are. The truth is if spurs were in stratford , the police would be very busy. LEvy is holding out for the haringey council golden handshake and making a fool out of you lot in the meantime. Harry redknapp (great manager) has no respect for his comments about west ham, turning his back on his own people for a few pound.

To be fair, the atmosphere at those places is probably less connected to what’s actually happening on the pitch though. Cant speak from personal experience of going to a game in Greece/Serbia etc so I stand to be corrected but from footage the game itself almost seems like a side-issue. Over here I think it does make a big difference to be closer to the pitch.
Any club that moves from a 38,000 to 60,000 capacity stadium and fills it - especially at our prices - is bound to have a bit of a watered down atmosphere. You not been to Old Trafford lately? Hardly a hotbed of passion.....
Spuds moving to a 60,000 won't be any different - and very difficult to see them sell out as regularly as we do....
On the subject of haringey....Spuds really couldn't have picked a worse time. You really think that the council are going to risk the wrath of the residents to give Spuds a bung? Don't think so, and why should they if Spuds do lose the Olympic Stadium bid! I think we win either way. They fuck off to Stratford and get a cheap (well, reasonably cheap) stadium or they stay where they are and have a £450m millstone around their neck !!!

I agree i think its a smoke screen to allow them to get whatever they want at SHL
It's too much and too far gone for a smoke screen. The olympic stadium plans have been submitted so are we saying that this is a ruse to get Harringay to budge?
That would be the mother of all cuntiness if they win the bid and then pull out as they get there way with Harringay.
No, they properly in for Stratford now.
As Levy's said it's Stratford or bust. Even If they lose the stratford bid Harringay could up the re-development costs of the area. It's already too costly for them.
They've even totally shelved plans to re-develope SHL. Made it clear that moving out is their only option now.
I thought it was a smoke screen too but I now think its gone too far. Like Booms said, they've totally shelved the WHL project because its just not viable. I do believe there defo in the running for Shitford for real now.
