As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I could have told levy for free that the idea of redeveloping WHL was never going to work financially or logistically or as harry would say 'its not a goer daniel' . Still, the computer generated images were enough for spurs fans to brag about their stadium being better then the grove
A couple of years ago I was at a wedding and I was sitting opposite a spurs fan who was telling me how great the new stadium was going to be and how they were going to re-develop whl and that he had been to all the planing meetings and how Haringey council were falling over themselves to keep spurs in tottenham.
I told him that they would not build it because of the money and the inferstructure problems(transport etc) they would have. I suggested that it would be better for them if they moved. I was told in no uncertain terms that they would never leave tottenham.
I wish I could meet him again to ask what he thinks now
I am still convinced that the whole Stratford thing is leverage for Haringey to bend over backwards to keep them in the borough by approving the WHL plans.
A part of me would miss them if they left
Spurs fans have been singing about it, but as far as I can work out it is the same song of 'Fuck off to Stratford, North London is ours' ??

Instead of fuck off they do "say no to Stratford" which is weak imo.

I know what you mean. As much fun as it would be to laugh at them after all their “Woolwich nomadsâ€
Where would the money for the stadium plans come from?
TOTTENHAM
From the sale of White Hart Lane, a potential share issue and £35m from the Government - plus up to £150m over 10 years from naming rights.
How much would the plans cost?
TOTTENHAM
In the region of £250million, with around £25m going to an athletics legacy by improving the Crystal Palace Stadium.
What will the they do if they don’t move to the Olympic Stadium?
TOTTENHAM
They may go back to their original plan of redeveloping White Hart Lane, although the £450m cost and poor transport links persist.
Tottenham will save £200 million by moving to the Olympic site and leasing the stadium. Tottenham, Enic and Levy would also cash in on land sales around WHL also ENIC, the investment company ultimately owned by Joe Lewis, who lives in the Bahamas, and chaired by Tottenham chief Daniel Levy, could pocket £200m by taking on the Olympic Stadium then selling Spurs to foreign owners.
Looking at it from a money point of view it all points to Spurs moving, looking at it from a point of view of which would be best for us as Arsenal fans then staying at WHL is probably best an extra £200million to spend and all the hastle of knocking down and rebuilding plus the problems with transport and Haringey council which could drag the development out longer.
It cost Arsenal £390 million to move and build at Ashburton Grove Stratford hotspurs could get the same for £250 million!!!!
