MORE ABOUT DERANGED ARSENAL AWAY FANS
Anti Spurs songs are good but doing it every 5 mins if the support is good is bullshit, i hate Spurs deep down so why do i need to show it by standing up, i want to watch the game
I looked at the football teams who has the best/loudest & wasn't suprised to see Spurs first, there very good & even sing (use to) sing Martin Jol's white army for about 15mins, i've only noticed that ammount of time sung once a few odd weeks ago with the North Bank v Clock End song only being sung in the corner
The fans should be all over tthe place & the kids don't exactly have the chance to go to everyhome game nowadays & get lost with the songs
Our support needs to be up'd alot & our home fans is a disgrace, maybe i'm saying the wrong things ere but it's true, the best games for singing was Tottenham CC & Man Utd otherwise we're quiet, do we sing only when we're winning? We prob do but it's still not good enough
When i watch the highlights on the box after a home game i can't hear many fans singing unlike away games where 2,000 or so make loads of noise
I know how much red action does for the fans with the banner & other things but we're a big club, even without the trophies at the moment we should be singing the greatest manager of the world's name for 20 mins, of course we're not all singers but at least make Emirates/The Grove feel really like home
With the Rocky song i sing it despite me not knowing much of the man before he died because 'stats' never looked at a history book then, now i have a picture with the littlewoods cup on my wall, i respect any Arsenal player includeing Phil because i love the club so much though when we won 7-0 the fans in the corner were singing all old songs at 1000mph like it was a race to finish plus we need more songs because we can't turn to a legend to help if there in the stands like Bergkamp we want to sing the names of the players out there on the field, even Gallas says it helps & he even likes the Toure song
Sorry for my rant but it's my view & i could go on i bet but i might of gone overboard with this

Blimey this is a pretty heated thread! Firstly I'd have to agree that the stand up if you hate Tottenham 50 times a game is annoying, in fact Roly if that was your sole point then I'd have some respect for it.
I think it would be wrong to stop singing it all together however. Historically they have always been our rivals, and due to the proximity they will no doubt continue as such. For a club so stooped in history we shouldn't be picking which parts to forget or change. in reality, we should be enjoying the fact that its been 20 whole years since they could have a go, who knows in twenty more years time it could be the other way round. Another factor is that its a bit of fun for the younger fans (i'm talking kids here) who are the future of the club. I used to love standing up when I was about ten and having everyone around me standing up, it felt like I was really part of something and had 30,000 backing me up against the common enemy!
As far as singing for Rocky and other past greats I think its brilliant. We always demand loyalty and jump on our soapbox when someone leaves or forgets us yet you want nothing to do with them now they are gone !Have you ever thought that the players on the pitch might want to know that if they give their careers to the club then years down the line when they are sat in the stands and retired people fans still sing their name as a thank you for the dedication they showed. Especially when we are 7-0 up or 2-0 up against a side like Sheffield who didn't even bother playing - its not as if they needed the 12th man at that stage!
Of course I wish more in the crowd would sing louder and more often, especially when we are up against it, but there is no need to cut out all songs which don't relate to the 11 people on the pitch at any given minute.
Finally, as a comment to Roly, I think it's pathetic that you have resorted to calling fellow fans morons and find in unbelievable your puported argument revolves around their choice of drink!! By your logic you should be drinking lucozade sport before, during and after the game because that's what our first 11 drink - thats what a "real" fan would do

How the hell did this get around to real ale v lager?
Never mind that. I think we have stumbled upon the greatest wind-up for Spurs fans ever. Basically just don't sing any songs about them - even when we play them. Can you imagine how pissed off they would get if we just sang about Chelsea or Man Utd or Leyton Orient rather than them? The mugs would just explode with fury on the grounds that we no longer saw them worthy of abuse.
I think this would be great sport, anyone else?

Forget the Spuds songs part!
Have you not thought that we had an absolute hero playing for us while his body was alreadt riddled with disease?
Sure Rocky 7 lost some form and fitness and we all wondered why,,,,,,,,,shit now we know!
I could get seriouslu involved here!
How dare anyone belittle what a true Gooner acheived for us mortal Gooners! He was Arsenal through and through!
Woah Rocky Roocky..........
Loved you then love you now!
