MORE ABOUT DERANGED ARSENAL AWAY FANS

Post by rolypoly »

ironic that after my rant about gooners at liverpool, at sheffield have seat in back row so could stand without hassle but everyone standing anyway so those idiots who went on sunday were either not there or spent whole game sitting staring at someone`s back.

ANY GOONER WHO STANDS UP FOR THE SCUM IS NOT A PROPER GOONER AND IS MORE OF A SCUM HATER THAN AN ARSENAL LOVER.

singing "are you tottenham in disguise " is fair enough cos that is a simple insult that any fan of any club could sing when winning but i repeat anyone who last night stood up to sing "stand up if you hate tottenham" is a complete and utter moron . 1st everyone was standing anyway, secondly why are you so obsessed with them. its pathetic. all you do is give kudos to them because scum think gooners must regard them as big club potential big rival when for last 20 years they have been anything but.

i am sure when i was kid anti scum songs were only sung when we played them and maybe one or two games prior to playing them but now it is ridiculous.

another thing why the obsession with rocastle. is that just cos he happened to score last min winning goal against scum which all you youngsters have seen on dvd etc.. of course he did great for us, of course his early demise was a tragedy but there was a much greater arsenal legend whose achievements for the club far outweigh those of rocastle and who died not too long before him and nobody sings a song about him - george armstrong but then while i have seen him score both goals in 2-0 victory v spurs it weren`t last min winner seen hundreds of time on video etc.

why dont you ever show geordie equal respect and sing his song or dont you know your arsenal history.

so on sat when the atmosphere should be brilliant anyway can you morons forget about your obsession with the scum for one day and sing up for the team rather than make tits of yourselves singing anti - scum songs.

Your right about the anti spurs songs, But Rocky is a legend to me a true gooner I grew up watching Rocastle play. I only ever saw George Armstrong play once he was about 50 playing in Ray Kennedy benefit match, So forgive me but my early football memories are littered with Rockys goals unfortunely I wasnt lucky enough to see Georgie or Alan Ball in there prime due to being only 30 sure I've seen the videos but they dont have as much sentimental value as a Rocky goal to me

I was with you before mate, but I'm starting to think you're never happy..
We hate tottenham, its a fact. I was brought up to hate them before I even knew why! I think there was one "stand up if you hate tottenham", as well as plenty of "..for the Arsenal".
And I dont see the difference between singing "Lets all laugh at Tottenham" and "stand up if you hate tottenham". We were standing anyway...Its not an issue to me. The more noise the better..Lets face it, they spend 365 a year talking about how much they hate us, its only fair we give something back..

Put it this way I'd be more worried if we weren't singing than I am from us mocking our hapless neighbours..

for those of us older gooners and who are supporting arsenal longer then arsene's reign then david rocastle is the hero,, yes there are arsenal legends who done more, played more ,scored more, but rocky was the gooner we wanted to be,, a player who shone when arsenal were so boring,, the one flair player in grahams team,, the man who cried when he was sold,,,
every arsenal player is a hero of sorts to me because they are doing what i always wanted to do,, play for the arsenal,,
david rocastle always number one

Rocky will always be up there with anyone on MY Arsenal greats list. I loved to watch him play (yes i was a regular during the Graham days) loved his attitude and loved the fact he seemed to love Arsenal as much as the we did. OK there are other greats that dont get as many songs sung about them but that shouldnt take anything away from Rocastle

David Roscastle is now, and will always be an Arsenal Legend. Players come and go but few players have ever meant so much to a club and loved a club so much as this man.

Rather sing about the scum that not sing at all... Why shouldn't we sing about them.. The game at sheffield wasnt all that exciting but im proud to say i still lost my voice singing my head off for the whole 90 minutes and so did the lads around me. We all had a right laugh an the scum's an cashly an sheffield's expense.

It'sso lovely when roly blesses us with his "I'm the best Arsenal fan in the world and the rest of you are just losers and I'mbetter than all of you put together" attitude.
For someone in his 50s you are so immature.

Grow up. I love Arsenal more than most things in the world. I sing anti Tottenham songs because I hate the team and the majority of their fans. We're all there to enjoy ourselves. If people get enjoyment out of Tottenham songs that's great. Who are you to judge them for it?

Again, why have a problem singing about Rocastle? How does it affect you? I'm fairly young and don't remember George Armstrong, so I don't feel the same way about him as I do about Rocky. Rocastle was a fantastic player who I looked up to as a youngkid growing up, as I'd imagine is the case for thousands of people around my age. When people feel like that why shouldnt they continue to pay respect to him.

Why don't you moan when we all sing Dennis Bergkamp songs when legends such as David Seaman and Tony Adams from the same era don't get songs?

I know this forum is a place for everyone to come and give opinions and you have every right to post yours, but seriously mate does every post have to be slagging off other supporters? Iknow you really like to think you're above everyone and that's fine, just maybe keepit to yourself a bit more.

I couldn't give a toss about Spurs, but in the absence of any other songs all noise is welcome.

I can't believe the attitude rolypoly displays toward David Rocastle. Those of us who saw the great man play (and I suspect that Rolypoly is one of them given his time following the Club) recognise him as one of the finest players ever to represent our Club. The fact that he died young may have made his face/record recognisable to some younger/newer fans, but those of who watched him already revered him. Rocky had pace, skill, aggression and an eye for goal.

If you have any doubt over Rocky's credentials as a true hero for every generation of Arsenal fan then get hold of a copy of the video "ROCASTLE: The Rocky Road To Success" This was the first biopic video made by Arsenal (followed soon after by The George Graham Story). Watch that video and then apologise to everyone for trying to make out that David Rocastle is not deserving of our adulation.

I also believe that more should be made of the contributions of people like Geordie and, indeed, Pat Rice. But it is wrong to suggest they are "more" worthy than Rocastle.

P.S. He did far more than just score a last minute goal against Spurs.

rilo 11. you miss the point as always.

understand not liking scum fans. any gooner who has suffered trip to white scum lane has every right to detest their fans.

but why hate their team. you should love ther team-4-6 points guaranteed every season.

twice clinching league against their team,

team literally getting the shits when champions league place up for grabs.

there is every reason for not hating their team.

your obsessiveness is with a club that once historically was our rivals both on and off the pitch. but that is not the case anymore.

if you engaged your brain our main rivals over last 15 years has been the muppets and to stand up to sing you hate the muppets at least makes some sense. if nothing else their club is worth a wee bit of respect which standing up and singing hate songs signifies but scum aint worth your efforts and allyou are doing is flattering the scum.

the point about rocky has nothing to do with bergie and the like and nothing about not liking rocky. at that time he was a favourite player of mine. true most of you and your mates would not have seen george armstrong but his deeds far outweighed rockys he died more or less at the same time and while still working for the club.

the other point you miss is singing hate songs about scum or tribute songs to the dead dont inspire the team and i always thought that was one of the main ideas.

again get over your obsessiveness with cole. you come across bitter and twisted and pathetic. you reduce yourself to level of scum fans over sol. cole has gone forget it anti cole songs now are probably a boost to his warped sense of ego .

i never said i was better than you but i can say with pride i have never ever stood up for tottenham.

finally do you know a good pub for villa?

About Spurs, you could then ask why the derby is still a big occasion. Not all football is about logic, they are our neighbours, we have a long and twisted history with them, even if they were as bad as Derby they would still be rivals. Perhaps not logical but football isn't noted for logic but passion

Roly does have a point somewhat with Cashley but eh, see above
