WHAT PLAYERS DO YOU REALLY NOT GET?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

To reverse this thread a little (sorry percyslop) I've never understood why everyone runs down Joey Barton so much.
Okay, I totally get that he is a lowlife wankstain as a person but so is DB10 (forum member) and we all still love him
As a footballer I actually think Barton is not at all bad. Yes, there's the occasional rush of blood to the head but our Jack gets them from time to time as well (admittedly without the devastating results).
If you watch Barton play then you'd see a decent footballer. Most of the goals scored by Carroll came through Barton. It will be interesting this year to see how good he is now that supply route has gone.

With regard to those that are over-rated, I point you toward a certain little Russian.

I've always rated Barton. His off field activities have clouded his obvious talent on the field. He's so much better than Parker its painful.

I'll add Gary Neville to the list. The luckiest man ever to be playing in that team.

Sergio Ramos. Total moaning fanny and I've never rated him for Real or Spain. He just runs around a lot looking flash.

He was fucking shit in the Euro Champs and the World Cup, his final passing and crossing is average, gets caught on the break all the time but for some reason commentators bang on like he's the best right back in the world.

Fair enough - in the national team, especially at EURO 2008.
But at club level he had a great last season! Very strong, reminds me of Christian Vieri.

I think Bousquets is awesome, I believe he had 100 touches in one game and 99 were passes, exactly what you need with Xavi and Iniesta in front of you.
IMO signing Alonso could have won us the league.

I changed my mind on Fletcher, he had a Parlouresque midcareer improvement.

Ramires also improved after an underwhelming start. Chelski pensioners need the legs he gives them.

Klinnsman's movement some of the best I've ever seen. Pedro scores in cupfinals. Modric was excellent in a deeper role last year - Spuds best player whenever they played well.

I think Kun Aguero could be signing of the season.

Average player in a good team. A Spanish Gary Neville, nothing more.

Newcastle have just extended Shola Ameobi's contract by a further two years.

One question.....Why?

Is this man not the worst striker in the history of the premiership?
