Looks like they are only selling tickets on TrenItalia a week in advance (August 19th was the last day I could book today). I was just planning to buy my ticket on the day since I don't think there are advance deals like in the UK.Chippy wrote:A question for my Italian friends. i don't go by train since ... 1929? so i'm not sure what i'm about to say.Chippy wrote:A question for my Italian friends. I cannot get a ticket on a train from Venice to Udine. They all seem sold out. Can I buy one on the day?

if you read "ND" it means something like "not disposable". it does not necessarily means they are sold out. maybe there's not a booking option for those trains.
i think you can buy tickets on the day.
anyway, i'm going to take the train to get to venezia on aug 15. i'll try it for you.
remember that the nearest train station from/to the airport is mestre.
We all know the segregation excuse is total bollocks though, even Blackburn can manage to put away fans in their upper tier! You're right about it not happening though, no chance at all.Dan_85 wrote:Segregation is the excuse given, I reckon there's other reasons behind it too though. If we put away fans in the upper tier can you imagine all clubs selling out their 3k allocation if tickets were a minimum of £48 or whatever it costs up there? Ain't gonna happen.goonermarc wrote:Thought the club might swindled some sort of add-on's.
Isn't the reason they put away fans in the lower tier due to segregation issues? They would have to mingle with home fans in order to get to the upper tier if that's what was given.
It could be to do with the layout of your ground. Can't comment for certain but I know that at Sunderland we have the away fans in a prime position behind the goal in the south stand- some of our fans (not me, I like away fans being in the main bowl where they can add to the atmosphere) want to see them shifted up out of the way somewhere but the police tell us we arent allowed to do this because when the stadium was built, the cells were put under the south stand so the police want the away fans there (obviously they expect more bother from away supporters than home and they wouldnt want to have to escort any troublesome away fans all the way round the stadium from the north west upper or whatever). It might well be the same sort of situation with the Arsenal, I'd imagine all new grounds are built with police cells etc in mind, so maybe thats an issue (thankfully i've never been arrested at Arsenal yet so cant comment for certain where the cells are!)1886 wrote:We all know the segregation excuse is total bollocks though, even Blackburn can manage to put away fans in their upper tier!
