Arteta took a pay-cut to join us.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Where are pictures of Arteta in the Arsenal shirt?

How long do I have to wait?

I won't believe this signing happened until I see pics

I think he just needed a move. Players can get complacent or stuck in a rut with the same club. He's had one big injury but doesn't mean he's going to be fucked forever.

All the Evertonians I've seen are heartbroken he's gone.

Even if the figures are true it doesnt really tell you much since the basic wage is only a part of a players contract. No doubt Arsenal players will get bonuses for european qualification (presumably more for CL qualification than europa so he might have to put a shift in to get the maximum this season), bonuses for if you go on to win a cup, no doubt goal/ assist/ appearance bonuses which might well be bigger at Arsenal than at Everton due to the comparative difficulty of getting into the Arsenal side, possibly some sort of image rights as well. Very difficult to tell exactly how much a players contract is worth tbh, even on the rare occasions that you get an accurate basic wage figure

I feel sorry for Everton fans. Their club is skint as fuck and they can hardly buy any players. It must be depressing for them.

Now this could obviously just be sour grapes but ........ :rubchin: :rubchin:

What is this talk of Arteta being injury prone? He has played at least 26 games in the Premier League every season since the 2005-06 season, except 2 years ago when he played only 13 (scored 6 goals though). He started and played in 29 games last season. That doesn’t seem like a very injury prone player to me. What exactly were his injury problems?
Or alternatively, he has played over 30 PL games in only one of his six full seasons at Everton!!

By the way, I wrote that this is what Everton fans have been saying. Did you even see what I wrote at the end of that paragraph?
