Mate it's funny because I mixed up the two timelines. Meaning that I continued to write Ajax, though it was Hamburg I should have written.
But perhaps I should take advice from Superfan Brazilian Gooner eh? Yeah, go on tell me some more stories about how the fans are small time fuckers and how Wenger ran this club.

You wouldn't recognize Frank Stapleton if he shat in your gob. So I'll tell you what, leave the piss-taking platitudes to me, or else I'd be more than happy to pull you up on all the retarded shit you write.

Like I said: I was supposed to be talking about Hamburg and continued to mention his Ajax time. But hey, if you enjoy scratching your arse hole and nit-picking (whilst overlooking the fact that De Jong's agent gave the Voetbol interview, go and find it the quotes are all there)...then if that's the height of your argumentation capacity then I stand corrected

good shouts babatunde!!...you seem to rub some up the wrong way...fuck knows why....some need to lighten up on all the proofreading and fact checking...the fact is wenger signs weird exotic maybes, instead of quality in a twisted bollocks effort at economics but they end up costing the same as signing proven quality...we are a nuthouse run by a snide madman who gets paid 6.5 million

You know the rest!

ROFL Percy!

Pato and Batian would join because it would offer them a new challenge, in a better league. The PL is a better league than Bundesliga and Serie A. Also, the chance to giggle with Diaby and Song in the showers is surely too good to turn down?
Is the PL a better league than Bundlesiga or Serie A though?

Not for my money, the Bundesliga is a far better more competitive, well run and fan friendly league, with alot better value for money!

Our league is a joke really! The only reason we havent collapsed so far is that, Liverpool and United are world names, and have worldwide fan bases.

The rest are keeping the money flowing through rich Oil money. That wont last! I want to see where these people will be in 5 years time.

Yes I suppose the Serie A is a mess, but again they are far cheaper, worldwide clubs like Juve, Milan clubs and others like Palermo, Napoli, Lazio and Roma who are up and coming.

Looking at the City-Napoli game the other day, I actually thought Napoli were the better side, and how much more have City spent on theirs?

The only thing seperating us from these leagues, is people like Alex Ferguson. United are a level above their clubs in many ways.
Fan friendly, yes Bundeslesiga is much better. But for everything else EPL is the best. E.g a depleted Arsenal was drew with their champions, Spurs managed to spank milan, EPL do very well in the CL. La Liga is only Barca v Madrid, Stoke v Fulham is a great game than their equivalent.

As for the signings you mentioned, i still dont think any of them would make us title challengers, maybe challenge Chelsea? but i doubt that too.
Cahill, Mvilla, Hazard, Benzema; any of these names would still not make us title challengers.
Also i'm not buying the liverpool revival. AFC will still probably scrap fourth.

augie wrote:1. Nigel De Jong - without a doubt the name at the top of my list. Tough, sometimes overly agressive and a fcuking winner to play in a team that has fcuk all of these traits :( Contract negotiations have stalled with citeeh and I know you can say that if city cant/wont pay him what he wants then what chance we will but a player going into his last season of contract would be available at a reasonable price and we surely have the kitty to pay him top whack
Augie mate. True story. A year before Citeh signed Nigel De Jong do you know that Arsenal were negotiating a transfer with Ajax? De Jong's agent spoke about it in length in Voetbal before he signed for Citeh and after he signed. The sticking point? Ajax were willing to sell for £10 mil but Arsene didn't think he was worth that! His contract was running down and this was before he signed the extension (meaning Citeh paid double that for him).

Wenger wouldn't go above £7 mil for him, some way short of what Ajax were seeking. So De Jong ends up at Citeh later, and then you will hear some numpty say 'oh we could not compete with Citeh'.

Well of course we fucking cannot, when we have the chances to make inroads the gimp in charge fucks it up and the player ends up elsewhere - see Mata.

Still. Good to see Arsene would rather spend £10 mil on a piece of garbage like Koscielny and £80k a week on Chamakh instead. Phew!
:banghead:
He was at Hamburg when City signed him. He hadn't been at Ajax for years.

True story.
Sorry. I wrote Ajax instead of Hamburg.

Now once you accept my apology for writing the wrong club name, please go and check the interview with De Jong's agent in Voetbol and tell me again, how this in any way detracts from the fact that Wenger yet again fucked up ne

gotiations for a quality player.

Oh that's right it doesn't does it Kiwomya? But sure, I entered the wrong club name by mistake. THAT is the key issue here....
City paid what they did because they wanted him to sign in the January window, regardless. His contract apparently had a clause whereby he could leave at the end of that season for just a couple of million euros.

I remember hoping that we get involved and try to sign him.

Lets be honest with ourselves, can we really attract the top class players anymore?.I love to see the likes of Hazard,Kjaer,Goetze,Muller etc etc come to great club but to be honest there not going to come to a TEAM IN RAPID DECLINE.

We only going to get the 2nd/3rd tier and those on there last pay day or P/L players who are better than own club but not good enough for title challenging teams(like we use to be) like Gary Cahill,Samba...no gentlemen firstly we have to change the current regime and install a manager who can turn it around.
