Is there a team you miss playing ?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Havent been to any away games there but I would like to see forest, sheffield wednesday and derby return to the top flight.

Notts forest in particular is a club I would want to see promoted - I used to really admire them back in cloughie's reign as they not only played good football but they were really well disciplined too 8) It was a travesty that they didnt win more with the team that inc young clough, steve hodge, webb etc :(

Because they are a proper club, one of the oldest in English football with a decent following, and a proper old style ground. When they used to have their all standing Kop it was a huge terrace

Rather that than some manufactured piece of ***** like the Reebok or the DW, where most of the three home 'stands' contain away fans because their own support is so shit. Not sure how you can call Wednesday 'shit fans' - would be interested to see how many of our JCLs were still watching us in League One. We used to get mid 20,000 crowds in the 80s, and 15000 for League Cup games

.....I still remember 16,000 for a Friday night home game v Norwich just before Christmas 1979.....!

I'd much prefer to have Sheffield Wednesday or Leeds back in the Premier League than the like of Wigan, Hull & Blackburn.

I saw us lose 2-3 there once after being 2-0 up. Deliberately drove at a queue of Derby fans waiting for a bus after the game..... ! If I'd have misjudged it might still be doing the time now and deservedly so...... !

Man Utd... when you really felt like we had a chance of beating them.

I used to look forward to those games for weeks, now I just fear them.

Would love to see Wednesday back as well. It's one of those stadia that hold noise in really well.

Hillsborough was one of the grounds that I never got around to visiting - I did like Elland Road though and we used to do well up there too :barscarf:

My 1 visit to Luton was a 1-1 draw when the away fans ban was on, Adams got sent off and managed to get a standing ovation from half the ground as gooners had infiltrated everywhere :D

Stuart - I was in the ground for that Luton game. My mate lived in Luton and got three of us tickets. We went into the home end, no trouble, and I think it was Kevin Campbell put us 1-0 up, I swear half of that home terrace went bananas, Gooners everywhere! :barscarf:

1 - Henry's 1st and 100th goals v Southampton
2 - Bergkamps first goal (s) v Southampton
3 - Ian Wright's 1st league goal(s) debut hat trick v Southampton
4 - Last day for the old North Bank and Wright hat trick to claim the goalden boot v Southampton
5 - Pires and Pennant hat trick in same game v Southampton

It looks likely that we will renew aquaintances next season (assuming we avoid relegation again  )

Any other teams that you miss playing against ?
Don't forget our win against them in the 2003 F.A. Cup Final!!!

My mate went to uni at Hitchin, so was close enough to obtain membership at Luton with no questions asked - as I recall it was snow / ice as the journey to get there was a bit dodgy was it Boxing Day or New Years Day match ?
