I keep seeing the name Christopher Wreh turn up.Yes he wasnt great but in the 1998 double run in he scored the only goal in wins at Bolton and Wimbledon and the winner in the cup semi final v Wolves.Something those above could only dream of doing. And he was George Weah's cousin
i keep hearing people mentioning those wreh goals, but when you play a striker in your team isn't kind of expected that he comes up with the winning goal sometimes? i mean, i know it's kind of a crazy thought for us nowadays that anyone in the team other than van persie can actually score a goal, but if i'm not mistaken in football strikers do score them from time to time?

I agree about Wreh he scored some crucial goals towards the end of the '98 season including the winner in the Semi Final against Wolves. His goals effectively won us the double that year so no way does he deserve to be in with the shit strikers we have had

He scored winning goals in pressure games. Not the 5th goal in a 5-0 wins.As Flash says those goals were crucial goals. The games at Bolton and Wimbledon were backs to the wall wins

What summed Chamakh up for me was seeing him looking over the linesman to check if he's offside before taking the shot and scoring against Shaktar last season.

The bloke is not a striker. Good job we didn't a penny for him.

Chapman. Anyone who had to watch that insufferable prick todge around upfront should have got a medal. Truely awful.

No way should Wreh be included, his run in the Double winning side should excuse any shitness that followed (did he really ever play again after that??) Incredibly important goals at a time when Dennis and Wrighty weren't fit.

I always thought Jeffers just got injury prone. He was a good finisher but the move was too big for him at that stage in his life. But I'll always appreciate his dive against Liverpool to get a 1-1 draw.

Agreed, I've never seen a striker for us combine awful performace with no work rate and not trying.

I honestly don't think its an exaggeration to suggest he is the worst striker in the Premier League right now.

Lets put it like this, the way he is playing now he would be no great shapes, in League 1 or League 2.

Chamakh has been poor for some time now, but no, of course he is not the worst striker we have had at the club. Who knows, maybe if Wenger had carried on playing him after Xmas last year, he would have kept up the decent form he was showing when he joined the club.

Worse strikers I have seen since being a Gooner (i.e. seen in an Arsenal shirt) John Hawley and Luis Boa-Morte.

As for Lee Chapman, he was crap for us, but he didn't seem to have a problem scoring buckets of goals for Leeds. Hence maybe the problem at the time was not him but our fine club.

Christopher Wreh, although not one of our better players does no way deserve to be considered for this.

He signed for a reported £300,00 in 1997 and as already stated in the 1997/98 double winning season he scored the only goals in vital league games v Bolton and Wimbledon. He also scored the only goal in FA cup semi final v Wolves and went on to start the 2-0 cup final win over Newcastle ahead of Ian Wright.

The following season he also opened the scoring in the 3-0 Charity Shield win over Man Utd which was a fantastic result and a rare thrashing of our hated rivals!

Overall his Arsenal record is played 28 scored 3 (not including Charity Shield) but his rich vein of form towards the 97/98 year was a vital part of the double win.

Chapman was dire. Everytime I see Bendtner, I just see Chapman. The messy blond hair, the cumbersone movement and touch and the general ineptitude. Hawley and Hankin were terrible. They weren't nicknamed 'The H-Bums' for nothing. Diawara was poor. He was meant to add more impetus to our attack as we sought to retain the title in 1999 but he blew his big moment.

I think Chamakh is not the worst - aliadere was way shitter. At least Chamakh had a decent run initially before his confidence plummeted. Aliadere never even got started.

all time worst has to be Clive Allen.

remember well last pre-season in Austria whit many italian gooners
one of my mates said to me "chamack is impressive this season he will score a lot of goals"
suddenly i tried to make a bet
my odd was 15 goals in ALL competitions for approaching season
if he scored more i must paid for a night session boozing
if he scored less my friend must paid for me and isnt so cheap
he scored 11 goals in 44 apps for AFC
my friend paid a lot of money in Guinness and others cant remember very well
sorry for long answer he's not worst ever striker for AFC but i knew he is one of the weakest ever
