Maybe it is for you, but for me watching footy in a pub is crap compared to watching it live.

On the e-mail I received it says that one of the benefits of Silver memberships is that you can get tickets from the 'Ticket Exchange'. But I thought only Red Members could get tickets using that?

No, silvers can use it also as I've used it twice this season.I Hate Hleb wrote:On the e-mail I received it says that one of the benefits of Silver memberships is that you can get tickets from the 'Ticket Exchange'. But I thought only Red Members could get tickets using that?![]()

Have to disagree with the arguments here. Silver gives you PRIORITY on tickets. Hence you have to pay for it. Red gives you the next level of priority. If you want an "option" to buy, you have to pay for it. If you don't want the option then you take your chances on General Sale. The flip-side is a Season Ticket. I get a slight discount because I'm committing to buy all the tickets and they have my money up front.
Looks like pretty simple business sense to me. If you don't like it, lump it.

But simply by renewing a red membership for long enough to be granted silver status (approx 10 years) don't you think that they have already paid their dues ?frankbutcher wrote:Have to disagree with the arguments here. Re: cost of Silver membership goes up again
I'm actually quite surprised that the Red memberships didn't go up this year!
I will definitely renew mine because I think it's still very useful. Yes, more and more home games go to General Sale but I haven't been to the Emirates for two years and I don't know if I'm going next season.
My biggest problem with those memberships is the renewal deadline. Especially last summer. Wenger: "Cesc and Nasri are not going anywhere." We all know what happened after the membership deadlines had passed.

Re: cost of Silver membership goes up again
I deferred my 2 ST offers last year. I will not be taking them up unless we sign some seriously good players before I am offered. In other words i will not be taking them up. I will instead, extremely reluctantly, pay the disgraceful increase for my silvers and do what I did this year and just go to the Scum, Chavs and Manure games, plus a couple of interesting others.
Unfortunately I really don't think any sort of boycott will work.

Terrible news, I think this year I will get someone else to foot the bill for my four memberships, lucky that I can do, feel for those that cant.
Re: cost of Silver membership goes up again
I have to renew 2 silver memberships
As i have 2 fly in from Denmark 2 every game, and dont want 2 buy a ticket, let us say Man U, for 400 pound trough a agency, i say it is a bargain.
I do understand, that it is crazy renewel cost, but i enjoy my stay at Emairates.

Re: cost of Silver membership goes up again
Forget the difference between Red and Silver memberships - what is the justification behind the % increase in the cost of renewing over the past 2 years. Ivan went on about the 6.5% on STs last year being part inflation (which did peak at just over 5%) and part VAT, but these silver increases are obscene. There is no additional benefit to being a silver member compared to 2 years ago, so what's with the hike.
Time to get in touch with the Black Scarves in time for their next meeting with the club
Outrageous increase

The only thing that may be positive is this line in the e mail

Be great if it means some of the less glamorous games might go for say £20, more likely they'll be a couple of quid cheaper, which the membership will more than cover, leaving a lot of people worse off.We will be launching new features to Ticket Exchange and introducing a new match grading system which will provide you with access to cheaper tickets for home matches.
