Re: Mata and Cahill
Usmanov would sack Wenger. That is part of the reason for getting him in.

D'you reckon? I'm sure there would be a mutiny of sorts with Sky cornering fans, canvassing opinions, and the majority would still be ''fucking disgrace'' etc. Dalgish syndrome I call it.frankbutcher wrote:Usmanov would sack Wenger. That is part of the reason for getting him in.
When I've been this season the ground is (sadly) pro-Wenger in my opinion. It's like a cult sometimes, very weird.

Re: Mata and Cahill
No, he is no Cesc and neither was he thought or expected top be, he WAS seen as a replacement , but that does not mean he's a carbon copy. I still think AW/Gazidis or whoever failed to sign him Fucked Up BIG Time, as he could have fitted into our way and style of playing far better than he has and will with the chavscum.Gunnersaurus wrote:To be fair not buying Cahill for 17m turned out to be right when you consider Koscienly stayed in the team and ended up being one of our best players.
Mata is decent but after having a good look at him this year he is defiantly no Cesc who we would have expected him to be.
Mata is the chavs most creative player - this is his first season with them, and he will definitely not only improve as the seasons go on, but he will improve their team (with his creative flair and eye for a pass)....
As for Cahill he has improved as a defender since moving from bolton...whether he would have, in joining us is another matter (no pun intended) because we lack a Decent Defence and defensive coach.

Re: Mata and Cahill
As much as I'd like to think that would happen frank, I get the feeling some kind of deal/agrrement would have to be done, so that Usmanov couldn't make any of the sweeping changes (we all want) for 2 - 3 seasons, by which time AW will have collected another £21 mill (KERRRRRCHINGGGG!) and fecked off to manage PSG or France....frankbutcher wrote:Usmanov would sack Wenger. Re: Mata and Cahill
I know I'm in the minority here but I don't want Usmanov or Kroenke to put millions of their own money into buying superstar players.
I want the club to be self sustaining and to be run to a business model.
However I do want the club to spend every spare pound it has earned to buy the best the budget allows. This clearly has not been the case over the last 2 or 3 seasons at least.
There are the 5 or 6 clubs that have always had more money to spend than us and will continue to have more money in the future. Then there are the new 5 or 6 clubs (City, Chelsea, PSG, Malaga etc) who have a gazillionaire that will spend anything out of their own pocket. More of these will come out of the woodwork every year. Following this route and joining the pissing contest is where madness lies in my opinion.
It's like the mega-yachts you see in the Med, you see a massive boat, and then someone pulls up next door in an even bigger one...and then there's Abramovich's boat out at sea cos it can't fit in the harbour.
Someone out there will always have a bigger boat!
This is not the direction for this club (in my humble opinion).

Anyone else think Red Members name is also like something you'd say you'd have after unprotected sex with an Essex girl?

Re: Mata and Cahill
So to make it simple you have given up on Arsenal ever winning the league again or the CL.milesgooner wrote:I know I'm in the minority here but I don't want Usmanov or Kroenke to put millions of their own money into buying superstar players.

Some choice comedy on here. Delusion don't even describe it.
Highlights include comparing World cup winner Mata (one of the best players in the PL) to Rosicky.
Hahahahahahahaha.
More includes slating Cahill as a waste of 17 mil even though Chelski paid just 8 mil for him. Same price as lump of shit Mertesacker!
Red Member I never thought of say this but hats off I agree with everything you said here.
Arsene Wenger is redundant as manager and has been for 5 years.
You've seen what a shambles our defending has been since Sol left and it's been a joke.
What we need are top class players. Di Matteo in six months has already achieved more than Wenger ever could in his career (ie winning the CL which is Wenger's wet dream).
If you'd had AVB as Arsenal manager, all the AKBs would have asked "who would you replace him with"...
Would you have thought of RDM
Same with Wenger. There are replacements out there, plenty of them and not just the names we know like Pep, Klopp, Jose, Hiddink etc... For all we know Bould or Keown could win the CL for Arsenal.
Steady on now, Mata played one game in the world Cup, whatever next? PL winning Owen Hargreaves for City?

I'll take that. At least I know what I'm talking about football-wise. You Madam are utterly out of your depth.Gunnersaurus wrote:You are almost as embarrassing as Frank (or Tarquin) with his banner

Im not out my depth at all Tarquin, I say it as I see it, some agree, others don't, now you on the other hand (lol) come across as all gangsta on here like you are some sort of tough guy but we all heard you on the radio like some posh twat that works in a bank and probably sits in club level munching prawns sandwiches with his fellow Tarquin who goes with daddy and gives it the big one after one or two fosters.

Why delete it? Tarquin gives as good as he gets, is it because you are bum chums?
Have you been sucked in by his false geezer persona?
