Lance Armstrong and other sporting drugs cheats
Re: Lance Armstrong
Everyone who finished the Tour de France must be on drugs.
I really despise every sportsman who cheats and Lance Armstrong is one of the biggest c**ts I know.

Re: Lance Armstrong
From what I understand, the next stage would have been arbitration where all the dirt would have been revealed. His team-mates were lining up to testify against him after being threatened with jail if they lied as Marion Jones was sentenced to. If he was guilty it makes sense for him to lie down now before the shit really hit the fan.
Never liked him as a character really, always seemed extremely arrogant and this obviously does him no wonders. However, it doesn't change the fact that what he has done is truly phenomenal and inspirational to many people, and although taking drugs is cheating and morally reprehensible what he (probably) did was such a minor tiny part in enabling him to fight his battles.

I don't know if Armstrong cheated or not, and obviously I hope he didn't, BUT If he cheated to win those Tour de France titles (which they're obviously fairly sure he did) then I can't see why it's a disgrace to take them away from him nor can I understand any sports fan who wouldn't want him punished.SammyDroppedHisShorts wrote:It's a disgrace to strip him of those titles. Put it this way, if he did dope then you should go back further and question all winners of the tour during the 70s and 80s. Miguel Induran won it five times start on him...."
Surely for the integrity of any sport, cheaters who abuse and disrespect the sport for their own gain should always be hunted down and dealt with. Otherwise, what message are we trying to send? that cheating is ok? no way, I can't accept that.
As for going back further to catch other dopers... well, yes, if there's evidence! definitely! get all the cheating buggers! we should be fighting tooth and nail to keep sport clean. Absolutely!

Re: Lance Armstrong
The whole world and his dog knew he was "juicing". If for all those years, even when his team-mates were telling everyone that he's doing it, how the fluck doesn't anyone seem to know? There's never smoke without fire surely. I think people were more accepting of his juicing due to his recovery from cancer.
I have no sympathy for the drug cheat, but salute him for his accomplishments for his fight against cancer.

Re: Lance Armstrong
its no coincidence that this was the first clean our in ages and it was facking boring. in the past juiced up riders could do surprising things completely unexpected, this time teams could bring anyone in.
just let them all do it and be done with it.

Re: Lance Armstrong
A couple of things for those advocating allowing performance enhancing drugs.
Firstly, it remove tallent as a factor, the winner will be determined by whoever has access to the best drugs.
Second and far more important these drugs seriously fuck up your health. We are all aware of what anabolic steroids do to people, but EPO is pretty terrible as well, taking large doses for prolonged periods can make your body lose its ability to produce red blood cells on its own. Some of these guys have to take EPO every day for the rest of their lives. Do you really want to put people in a position where they have to put their health at serious risk in order to compete.

Sport should be clean, accessible and safe for all. It should also be fair.
I find it very sad that doping has become so ingrained within the sport that people are almost accepting that it's part of cycling

bs, the talented will still beat those less talented even if the less talented areslightly more juiced. if people are stupid enuff to juice in irder to win the y know the consequences. i have no sympathy if it fucks em up, just like i have no sympathy for smokeers with lung cancer or fat people with weight related health problems.

I don't have much sympathy for smokers of fatties either, they make their choice. But the upshot of what you are advocating is coaches pressuring kids into taking performance enhancing drugs.the playing mantis wrote:bs, the talented will still beat those less talented even if the less talented areslightly more juiced. if people are stupid enuff to juice in irder to win the y know the consequences. i have no sympathy if it fucks em up, just like i have no sympathy for smokeers with lung cancer or fat people with weight related health problems.

Re: Lance Armstrong
Has this dirty cheating lying piece of shit been sent to jail for 20 years yet?
As the great philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau once said;
"Cheaters never win, cheaters never win! Liar, liar - pants on fire! Nana-nana-na-na!"
