Lance Armstrong and other sporting drugs cheats

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Lance Armstrong and other sporting drugs cheats

I don't believe he is a drugs cheat.
This man has been tested to death and not once did he fail either an A or B sample test.
But people will see this back down as an act of admission of guilt.

I hope he is allowed to keep his seven Tour Titles he won clean when beating a peloton full of dopers

Based on what though? The commission has no evidence of any sample ever being tainted....I think it's disgusting that this man who has battled cancer and worked so hard is being victimised due to some here say about Armstrong having taken a banned substance to help his fight against Cancer. Lance never took a performance enhancer...the testing would have seen it.
The whole peloton was full of dopers and he beat them hands down...fairly

No way do I buy that article...the guardian has always been on his case and it's that said reporter who has indeed pursued this story from the days of Title seven.

I guess we'll just have to wait for the evidence to surface...

Anti-Doping Agency chief executive Travis Tygart that the evidence against Lance Armstrong will be made public, despite the cyclists decision not to fight the charges against him. He said the evidence will be released "in due course".
When asked if he expected details of the evidence against Armstrong to emerge, he said: "Yes, absolutely...at the right time."

To be honest, I'd like to believe he's innocent but his decision not to fight the charges could suggest the evidence is overwhelming, but who know's. Just have to see what comes out of it, I guess.

He is my sporting idol after Mohammad Ali, and I am gutted beyond gutted. I know deep down he is guilty, but I just don't want to see what will unfold. Its a sad day for sport.....

It is truly a sad day for sport you're right sammy. From my point of view he should have gone to court to fight his case if he was truly innocent despite the apparent overwhelming evidence against him. To me this will always be an admission of guilt on him part despite what others say about him never failing a drugs test.

I dont know if anyone else here follows baseball but that sport is being dragged through the mud at the minute with 2 high profile players testing positive and recieveing 50 game bans. I comes to a stage where you start to doubt even the cleanest sports people when their performances start to pick up after a slump. Even Derek Jeter, who is seen by many as the outstanding role model for the game is the subject of such questions. Its sad really.

I dont know why they just allow the drugs to be used, all the top athletes use suppliments but obviously these are legal. I was saying to ny brother during the Olympics i thought Bolt was a drug user as he is so far ahead of everyone else and Jamaca have very lapse drug testing during training camps etc. this was backed up by Carl Lewis and my brother turned round and said Carl Lewis had been tested positive himself before the Olympic of 1988 but was let off and allowed to compete on a technicality, this was the same Olympics Ben Johnson was found guilty of steroid use... :banghead:

There are all at it just legalise it
