We need not to panic on the ball or be afraid to hoof it if in trouble .
Our fault against pressing teams is that we are easily isolated ,get caught in possession in central midfield and
the oppo march down the pitch and score a tap in.

Id play 3 upfront OX ,Bendy and Poldi and play some hoof ball right in behind them which could cause chaos amongst the currant's back 4 or would at least keep them honest so they don't pour forward .............nurse ratched I need those pills now please !

Absolutely Herd - although Bayern are obviously capable of banging in goals if we can't cope with being pressed high up the pitch we'll get relentlessly slaughtered. Its what's really killed us in the home games against Barca in the past and even the likes of Everton and United have been able to stifle us this season. Really need a plan to counteract it. Massive game for Giroud - he just hasn't been at the races in any of the big games this year and even though he's going to be isolated we need him to do much more than he has.

If we effectively lose this tie in the first leg do people think Wenger could face playing a full side against Everton and resting players against Bayern?

We have to be prepared to not have the ball, we can't afford to do our usual trick of having half the team ahead of the ball when we're not even in a dangerous position ourselves. That and general shitness is what cost us at Anfield and a host of other games over the years. Defend relatively deeply and move the ball forward quickly on the counter, although we've adopted this approach away from home in Europe we still tend to get grandiose ideas when we're at the Emirates.

I think given the opposition and context I'm simply just going to enjoy this one.

As much as I would like to be positive about this one I rather think that having played such a high tempo game yesterday we'll be knackered for Wednesday.
I suspect we'll struggle.
I'd like to think we could sneak a draw as I don't think they are as rampant going forward as Liverpool were yesterday. My fear is that we cannot break them down with our strikers.

Can't stand Bayern. Their arrogance is vintage. They've apparently remarked that the hardest game they've had this season was the one with their 1st team against their reserves.
COYG shove it up 'em & Wenger - pick a team that can compete please

Just watched the game against Freiburg on ITV4 and as good as they were with a aprt second string, they look more susceptible to quick counters like Barca were under Guardiola.

If we are to get even a point out of this game think we need to play defensively and no bloody high line or we will get bumme to the point of red raw bleeding arse.

Any chances we get and we need to be clinical, so Poldi, the Ox and Giroud upfront for me. Our best finisher, our fastest player on the counter and our biggest physical threat against Dante who is susceptible to a big physical forward.

In the end they are beyond massive favourites but if AW can just for once play tactically instead of the usual BS we can get a draw from this game....so fully expect a loss. I'm going for a narrow 2-4 :(

On a side note, the girl they've got doing the Bundesliga highlights on ITV 4 is seriously rough. Isabella Muller Reinhardt. She makes Clare Balding of BT sport look like a babe

As LDB says this is Key too ,out shape when NOT in possession is vital and something we really struggle with
and get picked off by the classier teams .

im in 2 minds about this match.

if we get beaten heavily we will surely have to take the FA Cup more seriously.
however if we either draw or even a narrow defeat then Wenger will again play a weak side v Everton and a strong one in the return leg v Munich.

our week from hell could then see us knocked out by Everton and then by Munich and then face Spurs at the Lane the following Sunday to stay in the title race :rubchin:
