As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yeah will be interesting to see how they set up - obviously have to be careful not to concede but equally will have to show some endeavour going forward.
Not interesting enough to tempt me to watch it though.
Rather watch Real and Bayern win a final than those 2 dirty cheating w**kers. That game was dire.
I know there is more than one way to win a football game but wtf is the point of having talented players like Willian,Oscar,Hazard,, even Ramnires to an extent and then turning them into Stoke. Why not just get the real thing, I'm sure Shawc**t and his band of cloggers would happily play a champs league semi-final,
I think I might have to be waxing my crack the night that game happens
What an absolute disgrace of a football match Atleti vs Chelsea was. I know we used to 'park the bus' under Graham but barring a few notable exceptions we didn't spend much and cut our cloth accordingly.
For a team that's had hundreds of millions of pounds thrown at it Chelsea are awful.
Hopefully Bayern/Real will be a better advertisement for Europe's top competition. Yawn.

You may disagree with Chelsea's gameplan but the reality is it was executed excellently (and comfortably for the most part). For all their newfound popularity Atletico must surely have realised what Chelsea were going to do, yet they seemed surprised by it and were reduced for most of the game to tossing balls aimlessly into the box.
After 1999 and 2012, I already fucking loathe Bayern Munich, but if they bend over for Chelsea in the final yet again this year, I'll likely have a breakdown.

I don't disagree with you NB, I'm just bemoaning the sight of two counter attacking teams boring the living shit out of each other.
That Mourinho is tactically astute is not in doubt but for the amount of money they spend on flair players I'd expect a modicum of entertainment. I've no interest in either team - it was just a terminally dull game.
Have to say I absolutely detest the way Simeone was waving the imaginary card. It's disgusting and has no place in football. Puts me off him. Would hate to see an Arsenal manager pulling those antics from the dug out.

Maureen does that all the time but yet there is a love-in from some on here for him. There are managers out there with a bit more class about them....no scratch that A LOT more class about them than this and I wouldn't want him anywhere near here.

I know mate, I'm just making the point that everybody is slagging Chelsea off despite the fact they were away from home in a European semi-final and somehow won the competition 2 seasons ago against all odds implementing the same tactics.
Yet Atletico are the new fashionable team for everyone to ***** themselves silly over and despite supposedly being an extremely entertaining attacking side are escaping the vast majority of the criticism for this borefest. I only watched the first half but to me it seemed like they had no idea how to break down Chelsea's inevitable game plan and were just thumping balls into the box in a hopeless fashion.

What is the big deal about waving a card at the referee compared to shouting and screaming for a yellow (often right in the ref's face)?
Just like how Chamberlain was criticised for being stupid when he handballed the ball off the line against Chelsea, but not once did I hear his integrity slammed for trying to cheat Chelsea out of a goal and trying to con the ref. But woe betide Johnny Foreigner if he takes a dive.

Yep, Atleti were pretty clueless. They set up defensively to counter a Chelsea threat that was non-existent, Mourinho turned up and got exactly the result he wanted.
Guess how chavski are going to line up against Liverpool?? At 0-0 the result is better for athletico. They only need one goal, but, I don't think simone has got the tactical nous to pull it off. If he tries to copy Maureen's tactics he will come unstuck. Each time chavski get to the champions league semi / final the more our board should take note and realise that really that should be Arsenal in there not the fifth biggest club in London. Maybe they will do something, and stop dicking about.
