European Qualifying games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Fair play to wales - I know they weren't facing a top ranked team but they (like Ireland) haven't got any top level players (apart from ramsey and monkey boy obviously) and it would be great to see them qualify for a tournament. Seeing countries like wales, poland and iceland progressing is the only interesting aspect from modern day international football and is a welcome break from the dominance of Germany, france, spain etc (note the absence of engerland steve o   )

Would absolutely love to see Wales qualify for a major tournament but can't pretend that it wouldn't be seriously soured by the fact that after taking out the whipping boys who will never amass more than a point, half of all eligible teams now qualify for the Euros.

I would rather wait until I was 70 and see Wales qualify for a World Cup than for them to qualify for a few of these bloated Euros but no World Cups in that time.

Of course by then the World Cup will probably feature 100 teams.

And Scotland still won't qualify. Oireland will get knocked out in the play offs against Malta by a handball goal and then whinge to FIFA that they should include a 101st team just for that one year

But that will be the year that engerland finally bring football home (assuming they have got rid of goaline technology and have a dodgy Russian linesman to help seal the deal

The more western European nations in the tournament the better, for me.

What odds would you have gotten on all 4 home nations and Ireland qualifying?

What a group this turning out to be! Ireland and Scotland automatic qualifiers? Poland play offs and Germany out.!

Yeah I know, not a chance but if you'd bet on the last 2 series of games in this group and got these results you'd be retiring now.

I didn't see any of the second half but the first half was utter dogshite  We, like most countries, have the poorest team and squad that we have had in my 45 years on this earth, but to go to play a much weakened german side with a gameplan like we had in 1st half, is shocking

Good analysis by the RTE panel of Giles, Chippy and Dunphy.. I'm sure some bandwagon :censored: will accuse them of being unpatriotic because they are realists and realistically summed up the first 75 minutes.
