Tbh if engerland want to get rid of blatter then they should publicly state that they would not want to be considered for either the 2018 or 2022 world cups should fifa start the process again - as long as England are considered to be interesting in taking either tournament, then their motives will always be questioned by the pro blatter camp. The bigger issue here is getting shot of blatter and the wishes of any individual country should be cast aside if they compromise the campaign for change

You would think the sponsors would start jumping off soon, that would be another blow and will turn the heat up on Blatter.

Visa have threatened to withdraw their sponsorship today.

'Our disappointment and concern with FIFA in light of today's developments is profound. As a sponsor, we expect FIFA to take swift and immediate steps to address these issues within its organization. This starts with rebuilding a culture with strong ethical practices in order to restore the reputation of the games for fans everywhere.

'Visa became a sponsor of FIFA because the World Cup is one of the few truly global sporting events with the power to unite people from around the world through a common love of football. Our sponsorship has always focused on supporting the teams, enabling a great fan experience, and inspiring communities to come together and celebrate the spirit of competition and personal achievement – and it is important that FIFA makes changes now, so that the focus remain on these going forward.

'Should FIFA fail to do so, we have informed them that we will reassess our sponsorship.'

To be fair to Andrew Jennings, he's been on FIFA's case for years now and not surprised the FBI would be interested in some of the documents that have come his way.

Nice work Mr Jennings. :barscarf:

Blatters position has been untenable for years but he is still there.
He has no shame and is a master of his game, a skilled manipulator he never gets dirty himself directly ,he leaves that to others .
The money mentioned by the FBI is pure peanuts to the real money involved and everyone has had a taste of the honey so it leaves few untainted .
They ALL know it if he goes down FIFA goes down and the smaller countries have a lot to thank Blatter for and will vote with him as it's their gravy that is at stake .

I think this is why Platini is playing a wait and see approach as if FIFA goes down or is weakened UEFA will gain much.

Septic will win the vote today quite simply because he has the numbers. But while he's going to win the battle he's fucked as far as the war is concerned because those votes give him quantity not quality. Being backed by the African and Asian federations but opposed by the big guns in UEFA means sooner or later he's doomed. A World Cup with nations such as Cameroon, Nigeria, Japan and South Korea but missing the likes of Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, France, England will bomb. UEFA hold the power and as soon as they threaten to hit the nuke button it's all over.

There's no doubt that a European withdrawal from FIFA would bring it to it's knees. The problem is that I cannot see it happening. Each of those UEFA member nations would lose too much individually to consider a genuine withdrawal and Blatter knows it. If Platini issues the threat Blatter will call his bluff.

That's a bit harsh OneBard! He may not have been a great referee but I'm sure he was honest. And remember, he was a role-model for the ethnic community. 8) :D :D
