Felt sorry for him. He looked intelligent and has a good touch.

But playing him was another Wenger fuck up that will put this player back months. Makes his senior bow at the theatre of plastics during a drubbing and gets taken off while the lazy inept useless AA23 is left on...? Ooh, his confidence must be high this morning... :banghead:

Coquelin: I may leave in January

Post by QuartzGooner »

Coquelin is not happy at lack of opportunities.

I would be sad to see him go, as we need a strong squad, and he has impressed me when he has played.
I think he is better than Frimpong and Eastmond as a midfield ball winner, and of more long term use than Rosicky or Diaby.

Hope these comments are taken out of context?

http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/ ... at-arsenal

"Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin is considering walking out on Arsene Wenger's side over his "annoying" lack of first-team opportunities.

The France Under-21 international has been on the periphery of the Gunners first team since he joined from Stade Lavallois in 2008 and impressed when he spent last season on loan in Ligue 1 with Lorient, where he played in 24 league games.

But the 20-year-old has started just two Premier League games this season; the embarrassing 8-2 defeat to Manchester United in August and the 2-1 reverse to Tottenham in October's fiercely-contested north London derby.

The defensive-midfielder has made just five appearances in total for Wenger's side this season and has admitted his lack of action is forcing him to consider his future, with a January move fixed firmly in his mind.

"I thought I had a shot to play so I decided to stay at Arsenal. I played a lot at first, even big games, but when players came back from injury I just disappeared," Coquelin told France Football.

"It is often said that when you are young you have time but I played a whole season at Lorient and now I'm virtually not playing at all. It's annoying. Given my playing time for sure the idea of a departure this winter is in my head."

what the hell is wrong with this kids nowadays? :?

he's a nobody who played for nobody yet and should shut the fuck up and enjoy the chances he gets, when he gets them.

i really wish we had some lehmann-style character on the dressing room to give the fucker a good old bollocking. this is probably stuff created by his agent though, trying to get attention... oh modern football

He deserves his chance to be honest. He was impressive both in the United and Scum games. I'd rather loan out Frimpong and rotate Song and Coquelin. Why should Song be an automatic starter?

His entry into the Arsenal history books will be in the same chapter as Quincy, Aliadiere, Merida, Lupoli, Nordtveit and all the other so called wonderboys.

And so it continues into 2011 - sign promising youngster, play in the Carling Cup, GIC comments on 'great promise', gets farmed out on loan for a couple of years or more, player has his own expectations inflated by the lack of incoming signings in their position, gets sold and disappears off the face of the earth within 18 months.

Won't be the first or last

Ridiculous attitude from the guy. He's had a few opportunities and has impressed, and may break in but his impatience is astounding.

Fuck him

What's this M'vila like? not sure if we'd go in for him after Jack the lad will be back - that could spell the end of that dunce diaby.

Maybe not an immediate answer but both those players have shown promise. If we are genuinely interested in the MVilla bloke then it will make sense to let go of Coquelin/Frimpong. If we arn't then the 2 youngstars should be given a fair chance, Coquelin more so.

We need/deserve better than all three of Song, Coquelin and Frimpong

I've heard that the contract extension is already being drafted. He'll be back fitter and better than ever soon :barscarf:
