OFFICAL SUNDERLAND THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm watching but not fullycomprehending at the moment. Seems to have been the fastest 45 minutes of football i've ever watched.

We're not playiong as badly as last week, but could be better.

Mind you, I'm not fully myself at the moment...perhaps we're playing terribly and i don't know.

But 0-0 at half time, I expect us to come out firing second half. Keane has to be given some credit for his tactics thus far though.

For the benifit of those not watching........

Not a good game. Sunderland are giving a decent account of themselves. Defending in numbers and breaking up play well. No fluent stuff from us up to now. Almunia has done all that is asked of him quite well. Two decent saves from Cisse. Too many passes are not reaching their target and we are giving up possession very easily.
I can see them putting 10 behind the ball in the second half, even more so than the first.
A win against them will be a very good result but I think we can do it. If they score though we'll struggle like crazy. This lot can defend.

Not a great first half for us, was it.

I suspect the driving wind and rain has a lot to do with it, but we need 3 points today, and at the moment, I'm worried. The passing is slow and deliberate (again, the weather) and we're giving Sunderland little half chances...

It's games like this that define seasons.. when the weather is shit, the passing isn't fluent, and nothing's working.. come on you Gunners, prove you can win games when playing badly! - until you do, then any talk of winning the title is merely cheap soundbites.

This is absolute muck :x :x :x :x I know it is breezy up there (isnt it always  ) but that is no excuse for the ineptitude shown by both teams in the first half
Yet again we show our respect when facing one of the worlds biggest clubs by playing a 5 man midfield  :banghead: :banghead:

FFS get rid of one of those midfielders, probably denilson based on 1st half, and go 4-4-fucking2

Must say, I'm not liking RvP playing wide left... he's impotent out there, as he's all left foot. At least if you play him wide right 9as he does for Holland) he can cut inside onto is dangerous left foot.

Ah, well... here's to a better second half.

If anyone offed me a drab 1-0 win now I'd snap their arm off.

At least we're starting to create a bit more now. Still though, got to up the tempo and take what few chances we're creating.
