As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Like how the fuck can he have fucked it up so bad to be out the rest of the season , give him 4 weeks and he will be back .
Mate do you understand the different hamstring problems there can be? A simple strain can be, 2-4 weeks out, a tear can be 3 months or more and if it detaches from the bone, like Saka's was rumored to be, it can even be 6 months out even if it heals well. Scarring can cause big additional problems.
It sounds like Havertz has a bad tear so it's several months out.
This was caused by Arteta running high pressing drills in Dubai, working the socks off a guy who needed rest, not an extreme workout! After the Wolves game recently, Havertz collapsed to the floor at the final whistle so exhausted, he needed physio's to help him get to his feet. Arteta is braindead when it comes to player welfare and he flogs them continuously evidently, these bad injuries are almost all down to him, no-one else.
Playing Saka against Preston in the 3rd round of the league cup? Fucking madness!
According to Legohead the training drills had finished and he hurt himself blocking a shot.....yeah, like we all believe that. Very rare that a hamstring goes as a result of blocking a shot. Like you say, it's these high press drills and basically over working an already exhausted player. Fucking ridiculous and its ended our season, just as Liverpool might be having a mini wobble
Arsenteta is a an absolute fucking idiot and this shows him up as the fucking novice he is.
At this stage of the season players have match fitness and do not need high intensity training. Training should be light and just keeping them fit for matches. Players who continually pick up injuries will barely train at the back end of the season.
To do high intensity drills is gross negligence and mismanagement.
I have no issue with going to Dubai for light warming weather training but this clown is running players into the ground.
I'm surprised Havertz lasted until February without getting injured when you consider he was Arteta's only option up front
Up until Jesus scored a few goals in December, Arteta had him rooted to the bench, which meant overplaying Havertz. A manager with even the basic level of planning would know that even an average striker was needed to be another body in the squad but this cùnt follows the Wenger method of not being told what to do.
Anyone who thinks we're getting an out and out CF in the summer is delusional, it will be someone who can play out wide or in the middle of a front 3, if needed. Even being the clueless twat that Wenger was, he at least knew a striker was important in his squad.
With so many attacking players injured it’s clear we’ll struggle to score many goals. We evidently can’t afford to concede many either so I think it shows incredible forward planning by arteta to stock up on so many defensive midfielders and defenders/left backs.

Presumably, we did these drills during the last trip to Dubai and this was just a repeat. What Arteta failed to recognise this time around is that a lot of these players were in the red zone due to excessive workload and lack of options and the training should’ve been adjusted to suit. His management of the Newcastle second leg was negligence of the highest order and if he had an ounce of foresight, he would’ve seen the Havertz injury coming. I’m even surprised Rice hasn’t gone down yet.
Coaches generally like to work with small squads as it creates a more intimate environment and I have a feeling Arteta is perversely enjoying this like the tactical masochist that he is.
Isn’t this knee injury separate from the numerous hamstring injuries he’s picked up in recent years. Even when fully fit, he’s an average defender and wouldn’t look out of place at Palace
