Not only is Havertz pure shite, his diving is pathetic. Went down there instead of fighting for it. Good riddance.
He’s a coward.

Exactly that. To think someone on here a couple of days ago, reckons he gives defenders a hard time.

The PL centre halves must rub their hands together when they realise they’ve got him coming up at the weekend. Cowardly and weak.

If we had never gone in for Havertz, no other proper club would have and he'd be at best floating around in mediocrity at some average Bundesliga club. We wasted 60 million and the twats that sing that moronic song about him, need their heads checked. Absolutely useless twat in the mould of the cùnt that brought him here.

Like a masochist, I read a few of the snippets from Arsene MKII and Captain Invisble

We need to learn from this
They were more efficient than us in the box
We will recharge

Yeah piss off to the sunshine while my lad and thousands of others get in at 4am having watched another choke job when the going got tough. All I've learned from this is that this is the same Arsenal 2008-18 with new cast members. Same spineless mentality, physically jaded, handbrake on etc etc

As Thynker and Mantis have said, we beat City because they were playing out and trying to get forward. That left gaps for us to exploit.

Against teams that sit deep we have no means of breaking them down, because apart from our turgid tempo, we are completely toothless up front. That is entirely on Arteta. No CF worthy of the name at the club….how fucking pony is that?!!

I’ve been hammering Havertz since the day we signed him, because he was a proven dud and to want him at all, let along spend 60 fucking million on him, should have got Arteta the sack by now. I’ve often worried that my criticisms of him must become boring on here, but having just read through this thread, the condemnation is life and unanimous. We must remember though, it isn’t the players fault. He is what he is and it’s not his fault that he was bought and gets picked. It’s fair enough for us to criticise his performances and remark on his shitness, but our fury should be directed at the manager who blew a fortune in transfer fee and wages on his vanity project dud.

I doubt many are surprised that we didn’t turn it around tonight, but fuck me, at least go out in a blaze of glory, not with a fucking whimper.

Back to reality after the freakish shiteh result!
The victims could drop 15 points and we still couldnt catch them.
Still I had a little flutter on the barcodes last night 100/30

That's exactly why the dippers will coast home in second or third gear come the end of the season. If we'd signed a goalscorer at the beginning of January, we'd have sent out a statement that we're going to chase them down. We didn't and won't. It's fucking pathetic.

Arteta is insistent the striker we buy works his socks off and presses hard from the front.
No worries about scoring goals, he just wants Havertz mkII  :banghead:

Forget the striker issue, our defending over the two legs was pathetic. I find it remarkable how a team supposedly built on defensive solidity gives away so many easy chances. Saliba has gone off the boil and loses concentration far too often. He is nowhere near Van Dijk’s level. Raya also has this brain fade moments in him and you could see the error for the second goal coming from a mile away after he started pissing around with the ball when we were chasing the game. Even against City, we never looked tight at the back and it’s far too easy to unsettle our backline.

The club/Arteta have basically weighed things up and decided it wasn’t worth the effort last night - and it will be the same for the league. We are comfortable in the top 4 and that’s all they require to keep the home supporters happy.

As I have said this match for most of the modern fans is irrelevant- the City win though was huge for them (even though for most of us old school fans) it felt pretty irrelevant

In truth the dippers will probably win it by 15pts..It'll be an easy glide home for the c unts  El beige put up the white flag in that window..He needs to go but unfortunately for us he won't.

Controversial but I think we had a route in to that game and Arteta’s tactics weren’t wrong. They weren’t wrong in the first leg either. If you miss that number of chances and concede to a clinical striker then you are not going to progress. First leg we should have been level or up in the tie. Havertz and Martinelli missing sitters. Second leg we fashion a chance which Odegaard misses. They then hit us within a minute. Tie over.

The issue here is the lack of a clinical striker that can press and the likes of Odegaard cliff edging. Like it or not, players who were chipping in during the previous two seasons aren’t now. Martinelli and Odegaard have literally cliff edged. Havertz was working but now can’t hit a barn door. Recruitment is the issue. The squad wasn’t freshened up front. It is suicide. The injuries and what I would imagine is mental fatigue to the likes of Saka and Odegaard is due to not having a big enough squad up top. All on Arteta, Edu and whoever is involved.
