Ffs, my eye sight is going so how the fu.ck do I work out who is who out of the Douzi and Luiz at the bowl

One of these clowns needs to get a haircut

When one of our attacks break down in the final third and you can see that one of them is standing beside laca in the centre forwards position, then you can be sure that one is luiz
Thank you

They say it's a funny old game, but something struck me today :rubchin: For years we were rightly highly critical of Wenger signing sub par players for our great club and as an extension only aiming for CL qualification as a target. Yet now I find with him gone we fans are now accepting this as our standard for success, I find it disappointing that I now see this as being acceptable
It's only acceptable in the short term. It's not possible for a variety of reasons to be challenging at the top so soon after Wenger left, so our season objectives need to be about progress compared to last season i.e. get back in the CL. If we get there though, expectations should raise that we continue the upward trajectory towards actually challenging for the major trophies and if we stagnate in 3rd/4th for a few seasons that should be seen as failure. It's not ideal that our aspirations are lower but it's reality

You are comparing apples with oranges there buddy

We are now accepting this as "success" simply because wenger accumulated a boat load of shit/sub-par players, and right now I am shocked that we are looking at marginalizing so many of them already. I am ecstatic because we had a transfer budget of £45m to spend this summer, and to recruit as well as we did (assuming we get Tierney and luiz sign) is nothing short of unbelievable in my opinion. I am not blinded to the reality that if things don't work out this season, then we are going to be seriously fcuked financially next summer (and the following summer), but the reality is that we had to push the envelope as far as we could this summer

Agree 100%.

With Wenger top 4 became the height of our ambitions, there was never any drive to push on from there.

This time round you get the feeling that progress will be incremental, first get back in the top 4 and thereby increasing the amount of cash that can be invested in the squad. Go again next summer and sign 3 or 4 top quality additions and push on from there. Rinse and repeat until you're right in the mix for the biggest prizes.

The days of not signing a single outfield player during the summer and blowing the league to Leicester City are consigned to the banter era, we are a very different animal post Wenger.

I'm not convinced that we would sell him. If SSN are right about Zaha then I have a nasty Xhaka like feeling that Dick is ok with Iwobi too.

Whether that would change at all for even dafter money (£40M) would be very interesting to find out.

That's a really good move for him. We will get a proper chance to see what young Eddie can do on a pretty big stage.

Anyone watching ssn when the reporter from old shatford is on ? The way he is disrespecting fat lukaku, you would think that he feels personally hurt by him wanting to leave

Lets hope at least one of Mustafi, Miki, Iwobi and Elneny are out the door

A lot resting on Pepe upfront and how committed Luiz is at the back, as for the latter we all know how undisciplined he is in his play, got away with it at Chavs due players like Conte covering, this time will have Xaka in front

Think we will get top 4 though, which will be vital to add some real quality, will be an interesting season thats for sure

Maybe he's a fan and not too hopeful about Rashford and Martial upfront this year. They have improved their defence, done nothing upfront and still have the prima donna in midfield. OGS is under some pressure :barscarf:  Expect revolution in the north

Don't forget the obligatory woman :D :D :D

Sorry posted in the wrong place, was replying to the SSN "big guns" post.

According to SSN the Tierney and Luiz deals are going to happen....we might not hear by 5pm but it's going to happen....Patience is the byword apparently.
