Not sure why people are getting angry tonight, we lost it in the first leg, we're wide open because we're starting 2-0 down. The way these c. Unts play it was always going to be almost impossible, they're fucking boring on a good day let alone protecting a 3 goal lead.

Both these posts are bang on. I was thinking the self same thing, nothing at all has changed in the way the club operates since the stadium move and the onset of managed decline. The manager is given free rein with no accountability. I didn't think that Emery was the answer, but I suspect he was cut loose because he lacked the English and the inclination to play the corporate buzz word bullshit game that the Old Fraud and Legohead excel at and which is swallowed by our clown world board and owners.

As for booing quality players that gave their best for us, but eventually left (understandably) for bigger and better things, it was wrong, fucking embarrassing and the sign of small club mentality.

I'm no fan of the Kroenkes Rob and would love to see them gone....I was involved in the anti Kroenke initiative back in 2018/19, which never gained proper momentum....but I can't agree with your last paragraph. They have indulged Arteta and given him the best part of 800 million to spend, which is far more than "just a small investment". When you look at our horribly imbalanced squad, with no proper striker, there's only one place the blame lies and that's with Legohead. If you read the comments on here, it's not just a striker, you'll see people saying we need at least one winger, at least one creative centre mid, a decent reserve keeper and maybe two strikers. There's a case that can be made for all of that, but how do you spend almost 800 million and wind up with that many holes in the squad, or worse, in the first eleven?? Fuck me!!

To make matters worse, we’ve turned the best 6 at the club into a roaming ambassador and it’s leaving us open in the middle of the park.

Agree with this, but I suppose with such a dearth of decent centre mids and none that are creative, who else can play a more advanced centre mid role other than Rice? Not that I'm defending how he's being used.

All that said, I'm not one for defining centre mid roles as defensive or attacking, as I prefer the old style of two box to box midfielders that could do both.....PV4, Scholes, Souness, Robson, Brady, Keane, Gerrard, Petit etc. Each will have particular strengths in a defensive or attacking sense and gravitate to that, but without the exclusivity and with the ability and football brain to read what their partner is doing and react accordingly. I think that it's time a team moved back to two centre mids of that type and I'm convinced it would pay dividends.
