a YES man and someone who is not too bothered in winning anything much.
I am not sure that Arteta doesn't want to win things .
I think that he doesn't know how to make the final step. He needs to work out how to adapt quickly when things are not working out and that takes forward planning with a squad that has adaptability.
He was made all powerful too soon . He needed and still does a voice that challenges things , that throws up alternatives and has the power to speak openly .

Agree 100% Rob, the problem is what with the new plastic kind of fans we hav, you know the kind: Half & Half Scarves, buying all the merchandise and thinking that makes them more of an Arsenal Fan, along with not daring to criticise Arteta: That is Sacrilege in their minds, and to even say that the Kroenkes are Bad Owners is Heresey they see the world and football as being more of a Business and a Sport, rather than how we Old Skool Gooners as Our Beloved Game.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:05 pmnail on the head.BFG4 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 1:06 pmIt is hard to grasp just how dysfunctional we are as a football club. We have a playing squad that are a mix of bog standard average and massively overrated(Odegaard). We have an owner who didn't even know the game was on last night, and it's nonsense that anyone suggests the money he is giving Arteta is because he is eager for us to succeed. Wiggy wants us to be top 4, and it's why we never seem to have extra funds in January to push us over the line to win the league.
Games like last night are a horrifying look into the future of a post Saka Arsenal. If Saka has anyone properly advising him, they'll tell him that putting his career at risk is not worth it to play for this clueless cùnt and win nothing. Don't worry though, we'll be able to boo Saka when he returns to play us with whatever club he is achieving actual success with - in between renditions of "super Mikel Arteta"![]()
Kroenke remains the biggest problem at the club and why it is pointless to actually get rid of Arteta because he will just be replaced by someone just like him - a YES man and someone who is not too bothered in winning anything much.
there have been numerous opportunities over the past 2/3 years where just a small investment would have got us over the line in the league or a cup, but Kroenke just wont do it. as i said earlier it is ALL about the money, it is not about winning trophies at this club.
The world is Totally Fucked with the Extreme Righty growing stronger by the day, part of that is how the Finances of the World are Controlled by a few individuals (Musk the Reptile, Bezos the Weirdo Fucker and Zuckerberg an even Weirder looking fucker, that bloke in India and the Tik Tok owner; who is now Big Mates with Trump the Felon who has given them a Free Hand and License to Operate Globally by the rules they decide (ln the same way that the PGMOL run things their way) . The Kroenkes are small potato's when it comes to the likes of The Reptile, even so whilst the Game of Football and our cCub / Team are (literally) In Our Blood, they see it as just another means by which to make Money and so Gain More Power to do those things they want to. In their eyes we are nothing more than a very lucrative Product end of.
Apologies, I Went off on a bit of a Tangent there, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at.

Until that is addressed everything else, all the games etc Is just a case of Re-arranging the Furniture on The Arsenal Titanic.

Make that 5 without reply if you include November's league game. Anyone would think that Howe has worked out how to set up and play against Arteta's team. We better hope the penny doesn't drop for all the other manager's looking on. It will and has for some.

Adebayor and Van Persie rather than the clueless cretin who could have bought 2 players that went on to win things and they'd all have stayed
Both these posts are bang on. I was thinking the self same thing, nothing at all has changed in the way the club operates since the stadium move and the onset of managed decline. The manager is given free rein with no accountability. I didn't think that Emery was the answer, but I suspect he was cut loose because he lacked the English and the inclination to play the corporate buzz word bullshit game that the Old Fraud and Legohead excel at and which is swallowed by our clown world board and owners.
As for booing quality players that gave their best for us, but eventually left (understandably) for bigger and better things, it was wrong, fucking embarrassing and the sign of small club mentality.

I'm no fan of the Kroenkes Rob and would love to see them gone....I was involved in the anti Kroenke initiative back in 2018/19, which never gained proper momentum....but I can't agree with your last paragraph. They have indulged Arteta and given him the best part of 800 million to spend, which is far more than "just a small investment". When you look at our horribly imbalanced squad, with no proper striker, there's only one place the blame lies and that's with Legohead. If you read the comments on here, it's not just a striker, you'll see people saying we need at least one winger, at least one creative centre mid, a decent reserve keeper and maybe two strikers. There's a case that can be made for all of that, but how do you spend almost 800 million and wind up with that many holes in the squad, or worse, in the first eleven?? Fuck me!!

The only thing they have done is give the manager free reign
800m
We sailing close to the wine on ffp recently so couldn't spend more.
All this investment nonsense is bllx sorry chaps it is. Arteta has wasted a lot of it he's had ample backing and the kroenkes purse strings are not an issue. It's silly to say as the evidence to prove it wrong is right there in black and white! 60m on havertz and 275k a week when no one else was in for him, signing sick note califiori for 45m when not needed as much as other areas, signing the pointless merino for 30m when he's no better then elneny was, renewing on higher terms walking hospital tomiyashu. Arteta has misspent, overspent and neglected squad and team management.
Yes they are guilty of not holding him to account, but not guilty of not spending. Sorry that's just wrong pretending otherwise

The Wenger comparisons live on. Remember for most of his last 10 years we were always one or two players away from completing his pet project. However when he did loosen the purse strings he blew his was on over priced shit like Lacazette and Ozil and by the time he actually left we had a squad with a huge wage bill that needed total repair and was as imbalanced as it gets. When Arteta signs more midfielders and left backs in the summer we will be in the same state
Re: Arteta’s Tray of Ice Cubes in a Sauna v Keegan’s King Bottlers Caraboa Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg Wednesday 5th February
To ship 4goals over 2legs is disgraceful, never mind not scoring. This team can only muster a goal or 2 on average in any given game, so I find it quite strange how we seem to be giving away goals for fun. Even Liverpool with their more dynamic attack don’t conceded so many chances and goals .
We’ve been poor defensively for a lot of games this season but nobody talks about it because we lack a striker. It’s even more crucial than ever now to have a water tight defence given the turnover of bodies in attack. I read the other day that we only have 3attackers fit +Nwaneri.

We’re conceding because teams have worked us out. No threat up front and an iffy centre mid. Sit deep, let us push on and then break fast. Doesn’t matter who you have in defence, especially when your fullback are pushed up, your centre halves will get done.
If Saliba and or Gabriel go in the summer, just wait and see how bad it will get. We saw it for over 10 years under the Old Fraud and Mkll is following the master’s blueprint.

Partey reminds me of Gilberto the season before Flamini took his place. Arguably playing his best football but doesn’t have the legs and speed to protect the defence. To make matters worse, we’ve turned the best 6 at the club into a roaming ambassador and it’s leaving us open in the middle of the park.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 4:35 pmGeneral wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 11:20 amTo ship 4goals over 2legs is disgraceful, never mind not scoring. Agree with this, but I suppose with such a dearth of decent centre mids and none that are creative, who else can play a more advanced centre mid role other than Rice? Not that I'm defending how he's being used.
All that said, I'm not one for defining centre mid roles as defensive or attacking, as I prefer the old style of two box to box midfielders that could do both.....PV4, Scholes, Souness, Robson, Brady, Keane, Gerrard, Petit etc. Each will have particular strengths in a defensive or attacking sense and gravitate to that, but without the exclusivity and with the ability and football brain to read what their partner is doing and react accordingly. I think that it's time a team moved back to two centre mids of that type and I'm convinced it would pay dividends.
