The 'I told you so' EU referendum - Officially the Worst Thread Ever
Re: The 'I told you so' EU referendum - Officially the Worst Thread Ever
By the way if you think that the House will reject the deal as presented you should be selling the Pound against the Euro because if it gets voted down the Eu federal banks will be selling the pound down in a massive way !
I'm not sure it will fail as I think Labour morons will vote with May !
For the sake of the nation it must be voted down even if that means we stay in Europe !

Lads there have been a couple of posts reported for personal abuse insults etc. I've had a look and tbh there's nothing worse than on any other thread so no posts will be deleted or posters banned.
But I would ask that you try and be respectful of each other and make your points without resorting to personal insults or abuse.

Herd there is a common term used by traders and people in the city that you "buy on the rumour and sell on the fact", I suspect in the run up to the Commons vote people are already positioning themselves in the markets and selling the pound. Its lower now than it has been for the last 18 months. That's a reflection on the expectation that the Government will lose the vote.Herd wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 12:26 pmBy the way if you think that the House will reject the deal as presented you should be selling the Pound against the Euro because if it gets voted down the Eu federal banks will be selling the pound down in a massive way !

As I said last week, Labour don't support Mays proposal. They want an election because they know they will win. Also think about it, millions of Labour supporters live in brexit heartlands. If Labour supported what effectively is a half/half solution and not really a true Brexit they would be alienating themselves from their supporters.

PS whilst we may have differing political opinions, we have one thing in common a loathing of the vermin that come out of N17. Amen to that, especially this week.

you can't keep shouting Project Fear, at some point you have to deal with reality.
But whose ?
Studying news reports from across Europe shows you things that the British media fail to cover or consign to page 5 after the much more important stuff like who will win Strictly or survive the jungle not to mention the cost of a new royal household.
If you want a balanced view you have to search around for it.

Its also a reflection of the newspaper(s) you read. Try the Independent, Guardian or the Telegraph for daily brexit coverage.A11M11 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 2:39 pmyou can't keep shouting Project Fear, at some point you have to deal with reality.

A very good article about the potential impact of Brexit.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46377309
If we do fall off the edge of a cliff with a hard Brexit it's going to take 5 years just to get where we are today. If we go for the proposed deal, it will still take 3 years. What's worrying is they could be wrong by a big margin and as a country, we are still in the shit for many years to come. And people moan about immigrants clogging up our NHS, well who are you going to blame in 10 years when our tax take is significantly less than it should be.
Whilst these figures are subjective, one thing is for sure since the referendum our economy is behind where it would have been today had we not bothered with a referendum in the first place.

Brexiteers will of course argue that:
a) this is all scaremongering

b) Brexit was never about the economy

We were at a wedding about 6 Months after Brexit. It was a mixed race marriage, a Cork Man and a Scouse woman.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 4:01 pmvery good points as always.nut flush gooner wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 2:26 pmA very good article about the potential impact of Brexit.

Seated at our table were 8 scousers who had all voted for Brexit. They gave 2 reasons. Stop the foreigners and that another 20 Billion a year invested in the Health Service would make it the greatest in the World

They said the same about Liverpool FC

As 2/3rds of their squad is not English , I guess they missed their foreigner target too.

So the irony wasn't lost that their scouse bride was a foreigner in Ireland, and highly likely to be signing on as the song goes!corkbarry wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 5:12 pmWe were at a wedding about 6 Months after Brexit. The article has no fact in it just some silly graphs ,full of coulds, might ,possibly shit that all have come up with and issued by people who don't give a toss about anything except their own highly paid jobs !Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 4:01 pmvery good points as always.nut flush gooner wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 2:26 pmA very good article about the potential impact of Brexit.

Notice May wants to debate with Corbyn on TV but only on the BBC and they wont tell labour what format it takes ,they obviously plan a stich up !
Funny that ,the BBC a people funded broadcaster that just promotes state propaganda ,mates RTE look unbiased !
