CARLING CUP AT THE SWAMP
Fuck me. I'm normally a negative old *word censored* but lets look at where we are on the central defender front compared to last year. We have 4 decent young players as opposed to the the fucking geriatric ward. And I'm old enough to be their grandads. just. Lets worry about the important thing like a goaly. (for you youngsters that means goalkeeper).

In fairness it was minimal contact .Dan_85 wrote:http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 021580.stmSpurs boss Harry Redknapp accused Samir Nasri of diving after the Arsenal midfielder won an extra-time penalty to help his side to a 4-1 Carling Cup win.

Coming on the back of the missed penalty which was also questionable .
Question is now , will we now have a spate of obvious calls turned down over
the next couple of Months . Its been well documented in the past . Eduardo post Celtic , Pires etc . Give ya good money Nasri has to wait before he's given one again .
Seemed pretty docile coming home, no Spurs waiting outside the away end when I got out. Assume they were so humiliated by being trounced at home they just tucked tails between legs and disappeared in to the night. Did see a couple of blokes having a scrap at Seven Sisters tube.bigreddave wrote:JMascis666 wrote:I bet there was 1000s of the feckers waiting outside the away end afterwards !
I wonder how our boys and girls got on afterwards, anyone hear of any rucks after?
I think the amount of support we had there tonight, being a cup game, will have made a big difference. The paltry amount of tickets we get for a Premier League game just makes the gooners too easy to pick off outside the ground.cdparky wrote:bigreddave wrote:Seemed pretty docile coming home, no Spurs waiting outside the away end when I got out. Not such an attractive propostion with 3000+ gooners walking down Tottenham High Road. Plus, I'd imagine that would have also meant that there will have been a lot more "old school" amongst the travelling support than usual....
Lastly. That was our biggest win at the Lane for 32 years. Which is just an excuse for mentioning the 5-0 that I along with a number of you old boys will have been at in 1978.... Happy days!

Mmmn. Let me think.... Worst refereeing decision of the night....:Dan_85 wrote:http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 021580.stmSpurs boss Harry Redknapp accused Samir Nasri of diving after the Arsenal midfielder won an extra-time penalty to help his side to a 4-1 Carling Cup win.

- Giving a penalty when Nasri went down a little too easily after having his shirt pulled.....
OR
- Allowing the goal when Keane was a yard offside when scoring.....
Bet 'arry didn't go for the latter!
Also, how come the ref suddenly decided to go all lenient once just about every Spud player had been booked....? I'm not even sure that either of the fouls that led to the penalties resulted in bookings - which is a little strange given that both were clear scoring opportunities....
Djourou looks nowhere near an option for the first team. The way he fell on a lame Bentley control at a moment was laughable. But Kos decided to run the house tonight. Great performance but I still hope for vermaelen's comeback as I think Drogba and co. is a bit early for young Kos and might be a bad experience. Nasri... see? Ain't that hard to take a pen!!! other than that did ok as did Rosicknote. Gibbs looks much more confident than Clichy at the moment, unfortunately he's already injuried so no questions on Clichy being benched. Gibbsy still needs to concentrate on his positioning. Flappy well... Disappointing as usual for the goal. Keane was stupid enough to shoot straight away as he had tons of time.Even the shoot was poor! But flappy still managed to live up to his surname.
But the whole team was enlightened by young Jacky! The boy took kicks, gave some back, and ran the middlfield with quick tricky play! Only 18!
If he can keep on going like this and keep working hard then I'll feel less depressed on the day Cesc leaves. We have a fine talent on our hands.
A lovely day!
