Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

A much needed hatrick, he needed that to have the confidence in himself and from the manager with regards to being able to carry the goalscoring burden, if he gets something against Chelsea he will really kick on for us.

Took all his goals well and played well, offered a threat upfront that Giroud doesn't and we MAY see the benefit of that on Sunday.

I think we should hold off reincarnating wellbeck as the new henry even though he took his goals really well last night 8) The test for wellbeck will be games against the likes of the chavs where he might only get 1 chance in the game and he has to show that he can take it - last saturday against the scum he got one chance in the game and he could do was have a fresh air shot at goals

This is the ONLY sensible post in the last couple of pages.

Let's not all lose our shit over a hat trick against a shit team with a manager that set them up totally arseways with 3 centre halves and who has apparantly less tactical ability than even Arsene!

He's done well, no more than that. He was poor against the scum and in other games so far too. But he did show that there is potential there last night. He finished very well and his movement was good, but again I'd say that was partly down to the way the Turks were set up.

I think I'll wait until he has scored against the chav$, mousers, Manure, and Citeh before I hail him as the new Henry... :|

RoscommonGooner wrote:I have to say that I was underwhelmed when we signed him but I read a piece by some Manc who was crying about him going to us, he pointed out that even when being played out of position he tried his best and, more importantly, when he did get a chance to play through the middle last Christmas when Rooney and RvP were injured he scored 6 in 6 games. Granted they were against (even compared to Utd last season) average teams, Villa(2), West Ham, Norwich, the Vermin and Swansea but the fact is when he was played in position he scored. So I'm hopefull.

That said, the genius will probably play him on the left with Sanogo up front
Seems like the manc was on to something

For fuck sakes - No-one has said he is as good as Henry was!! :banghead: :banghead:  However surely people can see the comparisons in the pace and the style of finish? :? He's only played a few games for us and for me has done a good job and is looking like a fantastic signing, so can't we for once just give a guy a bit of credit for playing very well and showing a lot of promising signs for the present and future rather than rehashing missed chances? :banghead:

By the way, if the criteria is doing it in the 'big games' and against the 'best opposition' than some would argue Henry's failure to score (or indeed play well) in any of the numerous finals he played for us would affect how he good he should be considered.

(Fuck, now you've gone and made me have an inadvertent dig at one of our greatest ever players. :banghead: *word censored*!! )

So we're left with a genuine world class list that contains Maradonna, Pele, Zidane, Best and Bergkamp. :barscarf: :barscarf:
