For those who want to celebrate tonight

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I just can't believe people on here...It's not April 1st yet is it? There's a difference between getting carried away and simply enjoying the moment....No-ones saying that because of last night we're going to win the thing but come on! How ANY Arsenal fan can be left 'feeling flat' after last night is simply beyond me.

Previous of what? Having my own mind.

Fuck you if you think I'll be bowing down to what you think.

I'll publish my own views on how I interpret our teams performance if it's all the same to you. And comment accordingly on other views I don't share.

And if it isn't, I'll still do it anyway.

FFS some people need to cheer the f**k up!!

Did Liverpool complain last year when we dicked on them? and that was over both legs!

If you were in the 12 pins last night you would be feeling far from flat

[quote="Number 5"]I'm not usually miserable.

Generally I can see positives out of most situations.

This year I genuinely believed the CL was our best chance of success but something hit me last night and I can't shake it.

if you think that the CL is/was our best chance of silverware then you are deluded.

fa cup - manure, russians

CL - manure, barca, mickeys, russians, munich

the odds are stacked against us in the CL
hello we have more chance in the CL behave

Number 5 wrote:Fuck you lot and your blind optimism. It's not like we won a semi final last night and one more good performance seals the deal. We'll need 5 decent performances to lift the trophy.

Good luck in your little world's thinking that is still possible.

I still don't get the point of all this.

We're not deluded idiots.... we're football fans. ARSENAL fans. You're telling us to fuck off because we're happy we won??? that's crazy.

Nobody here thinks we're the best team in Europe. Most would concede that other teams are better than us and more likely to prevail.... but what are you suggesting??? that we give up?? that the fans and players go home and pack it in???

Should the players just not try because we're underdogs???

That makes no sense. It's a sport for fuck sake.... you give your all whether you're the best or not.

We played shit. We're probably not going to win the CL.... but fuck it.. I'm pleased we won that penalty shoot out because it keeps the dream alive, and when all is said and done, sport is about the romance. The journey... I'm with this team until the end, whether we win or not.

Doesn't mean I'm an idiot, either. Millions of football fans all over the world spend money watching their team every week... and you know what, most of them won't win a trophy, but they still turn up becuase their football club is in their soul and all the silverware and star players are merely added extras and NOT the reason we love our club so much.

So yes, come back and say you told me so in a few weeks.... we're shit and you predicted it. Well fucking done to you, sir.

When the season started yes I did think this was our best chance of a trophy.

I couldn't see us winning the title, the fa and carling cups we generally tend to us back up players so I always discount them.

That only left the CL and I feel our style of football is more suited to the European game. Now all four English teams are left I have re assessed my thoughts and can't see us winning it.

Hence why I said was our best chance, not is.

Radford believes thia is different this season

fairplay, as with the quater finalist in the CL it is way more difficult for us to win than the fa cup

Hence why I said was our best chance, not is

this has now been cleared up. but hey big man try and be a wee bit happy abput last night. in the stands it pandemonium

I wouldn't really come back and say I told you so, that was just tongue in cheek. I don't feel the need to justify my thoughts if they happen to be correct.

Listen mate, whoever we draw in the next round if we put in a performance like we did first leg against Roma, I'll be straight on here saying that more like it, I have faith etc etc. Even if we lose 2-0. I want to see more from this team as I do belive they are capable. Not just shit with no hope. I don't automatically jump on the team after a defeat, just after a shitty performance.

As I said previously last night was a great result for a team with no pretentions of going all the way. As you yourself say we probably won't win it so you're happy with that.

I'm not.

Dosen't mean come kick off time of whatever match I support the team any less. I don't sit there all game being a doom and gloom merchant. I voice my opinions on here or at work or down the boozer after the game is over and I have formed an idea of how I feel at that particular moment.

My views change from game to game. I don't have a pre-conceived idea of what I'm going to post. I write what I feel.

And right now I don't feel to good.

I'm not going to change for anybody on here. Disagree with me of course you might change my mind as I say I'm not set in my ways. I like to read other opinions even if I don't share them.
