my 1st away game....

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

other than matches at the SoL I've seen three Arsenal away games. Newcastle away in the FA Cup was a class atmosphere but i cant remember for the life of me the result or season  I think it was the same season Bergkamp scored "that goal" against the mags- IIRC Arsenal had a league game up there around the same time so FA Cup tickets went to general sale- I think it was Edu with the Arsenal goal (and i think it finished 1-1, Arsenal twatting the *word censored* in the replay, which might actually have been the bergkamp goal, i dont know, im a bit pissed tonight)

Roma away last season was class, brilliant atmosphere again, me and my mate stumbled into a group of gooners and we found a place selling alcohol which was a result. I was nervous as fuck during penalties despite being a Sunderland fan, fuck knows what it was like for my mate! Stuck in the ground two hours afterwards but at least they stuck some arsenal videos on for us

Other one was a friendly at Rangers a few years back. As you'd expect not as good an atmosphere and all i remember is that Arsenal fucked them and Rangers fans had the cheek to celebrate arsenal missing a penalty at about 3 nil up

You'll have a class time at Liverpool, quiet in the home end but I'm sure the away lot will make up for it again. Once you've been to one away game you realise how good they are, and home games just arent the same ever again

Thankfully for me, its an away day tomorrow, off to Wigan- class

its not bad like, wigan fans are a bit dull tbh, being a rugby league town and all, and them having fuck all fans but still, we're bringing 5,000 down and are looking forward to taking the place over  I'd take a draw like, we have a habit this season of getting a good result then fucking up the next match! My first trip to Wigan was when we were in the championship and we brought 8,000. Scored early and won 1-0, great night! Away games are just class, seeing someone else supporting the same club and immediately feeling a bond, loving it when you see your own fans in a pub, outsinging the home fans etc, quality
