Pires back at Arsenal

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Unfortunately, there's a chance that they may have raised our expectations so high that anything else just won't do. Gutted, what a downer

Great times though ( if you were lucky enough to see 'em ) :barscarf:
What the fuck? We aren't Wigan Athletic.

And clinging onto the past, 4 years ago is hardly the 70s is it?
Stop living up to your reputation Paddy

Is 4 years ago not the past ? Yes :banghead: it is !!
And my point was that it was probably the most successful period in Arsenal history as well as the best football we've ever played :barscarf: .
( I am in my mid thirties. 40+ may be offended, for no reason at all usually  ) and my kids missed it unfortunately. That's all I meant.

There are some touchy fellas on here, so there is, to be sure, but.
Keyboard warrior alert!! Awoogah!!  I reckon Louder is a keyboard ultra!! :-P

Pires is a veteran, a proven competitor, and someone who will always bleed Arsenal.

That kind of mentality and influence that this team needs around it, and frankly, we should sign him for a small-price one year contract. He should play out his days in an Arsenal kit (even if he only plays one match). I suppose the question is if he'd want to play in a greatly reduced role even if we offered... and if he feels like playing in the physical, fast EPL again.

Pure class.
Agree, if Sol can be given a 1 year, then yes let's get the great man onboard. Just his presence in the dressing room, in training will do nothing but good for the morale of our young players. Can he play v the likes of Stoke, Bolton - sure. He'd get into their teams even at his age, so he sure can play against them....

Sign him back Arsene, please! I'll beg if that's what it takes! I'll excuse all your past and future errors, and even suck off Eboue and Almunia!

Edit: I'm considering going up to London Colney in an attempt to meet the great man. Thus far, I've found out that the training ground is in Bell Lane, London Colney. But does anybody know the precise location? Or what time they start/finish training? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, it would make too much sense, therefore Wenger won't do it.

If you put bell lane london colney into google earth. the bowling like football pitches are a huge give away. also the space ship type white building.

You can see the entrance from london colney by-pass :barscarf:

if he is not signed bya club, it is not a transfer so i think he can sign for any team that wants him.
