Pires back at Arsenal

Pires back at Arsenal

Post by Vince »

Wenger said on french tv that Pires is training with the first team for 2 weeks now.
"He's training with us for 2 weeks now. He's always happy when he's on the ball. Physically, he's good, he can be helpful in the French league."

He always wanted to come back to Arsenal. We won't sign him though :?

This can have no ill effect on the team.

Pires is a veteran, a proven competitor, and someone who will always bleed Arsenal.

That kind of mentality and influence that this team needs around it, and frankly, we should sign him for a small-price one year contract. He should play out his days in an Arsenal kit (even if he only plays one match). I suppose the question is if he'd want to play in a greatly reduced role even if we offered... and if he feels like playing in the physical, fast EPL again.

Pure class.

This is good news, personally Pires is one of, if not my favourite ever Arsenal player.

I'd take the whole team back from 03 - 04.

Even at the age most of them are now, they would all be better than the injury prone midgets that we have now!

Fantastic. He looked really good even in his last season at Villarreal and should be signed up on a similar short-term contract to Sol Campbell's.

Incidentally, am I right in thinking that Arsenal's training sessions are all behind closed doors these days? I'd happily go down and watch him train otherwise. More fun than watching our first-team play.

Embarrassing thing is really, that he would be welcomed back into the starting team by most fans.

Yet he was dumped ( ) stupidly by Wenger, as was Campbell and many others.

Now he is eating his words as the youth that replaced them such as Diaby etc are fucking shite.

Bring him back, make him vice captain. Play him in the midfield 3.

He should never have left, should have done a "Giggs" job here. Dsigraceful management it was.

Selling Robert Pires in the first place was possibly Arsene's biggest ever mistake. This guy was totally unique - looked like hippy or an artist that didn't get out of bed til 4pm but played like an angel with magic in his boots!!

I'd love to see him back - he's still head and shoulders above most of our current squad.
