I wasn't on about the team he inherited, i was on about the invincibles of 2004 to the current shambles.
and in your world the invincibles assembled themselves?

What a sickening stomach churning thought.
how about morrow, selley, hilllier, mcgoldrick and linighan?
get a grip ffs
sounds like you hate our team more than any Spuds fan
GG never told us that lot were world-beaters, he never rewarded em with extended lucrative contracts but most importantly each and every one of them, despite their serious lack of talent, were proud to wear the Arsenal shirt and never put in anything less than 100%.
then why did we finish midtable?

It comes to something when I have to defend the likes of the above but perhaps they were busy winning trophies?

Morrow, Selley, Hillier, McGoldrick and Linighan have two league cups, an FA Cup, a league title and a European Cup Winners Cup between em.

Bender, Denilson, Eboue and Vela have a bunch of dosh.

No, I'm not gonna have a rant because there is no point.
An achievement on a par with winning the emirates cup
Or maybe the Herbert Chapman Trophy against Huddersfield lifted by Djourou :?

Nope in my world 2004 was 7 years ago and I don't live in the past. Arsene Wenger is the greatest manager this club has ever had but his time was up 2/3 seasons ago. If you want to continue living off past glories fine, I'll worry about the mess we're in TODAY.

from memory none of them apart from possibly Hillier made 10 appearance in '91 most weren't even at the club
and we won just one league cup
none of them but Linighan played in the FA cup final so wont have medals
obv morrow played in the league cup final but not sure about the rest

we also never challenged for the league with them in the team so in a CL era they would have been far far worse options

there is a real lack of perspective here
the rubbish current players could all easily win more than the rubbish GG players this season alone

@highburyJD

if they could win more than GG's players why don't they?

fact is if wenger says a player is good enough some people will believe him without knowing two shits about him.

edit- anders did as he wasn't a lazy *word censored*

Andrei has disappointed me more than any other Arsenal player ever. He is undoubtedly a brilliant player but his attitude absolutely stinks. The 50% tax thing seems to have derailed his interest and he has been one of our worst players this season. Anders all day but then I am biased.

I idolised Limpar prob more than any player before or since
but he absolutely WAS a lazy *word censored*

I hope the (admittedly pants) Arse players listed win as much as pos
maybe they will maybe they wont
the idea that Arse winning a trophy could turn your stomach I find very surprising - I also think denilson et al are better players than morrow + selley etc

I hadn't really thought about it that way. I've been of the frame of mind that any cup win might spur us on to better things (a la 87) but I'm not sure we deserve it. But then when we beat Chelsea the other week I celebrated those goals as ecstatically as any others. Stil, everytime I see Bergkamp or Pires clips these days, it makes me really sad, not just in a nostalgic way but in a truly gutted, we've lost some magic way.

Sorry JD. I too idolised Limpar but when it comes to laziness, AA wins hands down!! GG didn't like that aspect of Limpar's game - probably the reason he ended up getting rid of him - and certainly wouldn't tolerate the Russian's sub-par efforts the way that Wenger does.
