Can't see us getting anything over there so we need a nice 3-0 at home if possible otherwise seriously squeky bum time and what's worse the draw isn't easy enough to convince us to buy pre going through
They may ahve lost some good players but presumably this gives them lots of money to spend on players perhaps where they were more needed
I'm a natural pessimist

Flying to Venice looks like the most viable option though, Trieste is a bit expensive. Ljubljana is far too expensive as well.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:Udinese are based in Udine, not VeniceZiegler1988 wrote:Got my top choice. Should be a great away trip, been to Italy before but never Venice.
Looks like some creative planning needed to find a way of getting to this one for a decent price!

Not ideal. They had the top scorer in Italian football last year. He sure will enjoy playing against our 'defence'.
Udinese draw is on a similar level to drawing Twente
Rubin would have been the worst draw for a number of reasons.
I hate to say it but things have been so depressing this Summer, that I fully expected either these guys or Rubin. I am not overly confident. Italian football not been great of late but Italian teams are no fools. Of course, we can beat them but we are such a mess, i just think this could be the draw to see us knocked out.

Sorry, forgot to mention, I am sure that Van Persie is unavailable due to suspension. (Nasri as well if he is still here)

Great draw potentially for the future good of this club. No easy option of Celtic, Twente or Zagreb, but a genuine top four club from a top league.
For the benefits of Piresistible and fellow pea-brains, this does not mean I am hoping that Arsenal lose. What I'm pleased about is that we actually have a difficult two legged tie sandwiched in between some very difficult league games.
In the event it doesn't go according to plan then Kroenke might take a different view of our wonderful business model. No Champions League group stage = £20m less which is a significant chunk of our operating profit

Antonio Di Natale has been top scorer in Serie A the last two seasons, and Udinese are no mugs, although they have lost three big players.A dallying Gus Caesar wrote:Totally agreecusamano wrote:Kazan would have been harder imoVerginho wrote:arsenal v udinese hardest matchup imo!

First leg at home will also affect us, imo, as if the Italians can get a goal ( and who can't, quite frankly ) then they will be confident of holding us in the second leg.
Nasri and RvP suspended as well for the first leg, and Cesc probably not there, and no defence in place- as yet, and even if *word censored* buys someone they won't have time to settle.
Yes, this is going to be a tough job.
Luckily we have three relatively easy games in the Premier League in August.

Problem being if it all goes tits up then we've only got a few days until the end of the transfer window to rush in some proper players, and a new manager!SteveO 35 wrote:
