The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?
Re: The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?
Get fucking real lads, RVP will dictate where and when he goes, just like Fabregas and nasri. Anyone believeing that Arsenal and Wenger wil take the high moral ground on this is fucking deluded. We all know what makes Wenger and the club tick, Money!!! and by that I mean making it, and not fucking well spending it.
Re: The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?
I know I should not bother but....
Did he arrogantly lose Henry a player who again had not hidden his wish to play in Spain and I think was probably at Arsenal a season to long anyway.
Did he arrogently lose Vieira who spent the summer before touting himself around Europe looking to leave
Did he arrogently lose Nasri a player we(apparently) offered £130k per week to stay with us
Show me 1 fan who thought letting Clichy go wasnt a bad bit of business
Do fans really see as finishing above Spurs as the highlight of the season.
Perhaps if these so called fighters and winners had the b******s to stand up and be counted(Nasri anybody) instead of running to the money then there might of been a chance that Arsenal wouldnt be just 3rd in the PL ahead of 17 other clubs. It's all too easy to look constantly a the negative side of things, it makes great reading for some and unless you are winning cup after cup after cup you will get people to agree with you.
If these players leave so what, yes I want The Arsenal to win trophies and to be the best but I also want Arsenal to be around for my boys to go and watch. Where would you rather us be like Villa no investment, rubbish manager and not looking great for the future unless something changes. It's all about perspective and taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture regarding footballing finaces and where The Arsenal are in that big picture.
Did he arrogantly lose Cesc last summer a player who made no hidding of his wish to move back to Spain and who over the previous last two seasons at Arsenal had an hamstring injury that has now vanished. Also regarding the quoteNow. Wenger has won nothing in Seven years. He's preferred to arrogantly lose players like Cesc, Henry, Vieira and Nasri so he could prove to the whole world his theory was correct. Instead, it's seen Arsenal deteriorate so appallingly to the level that most agree, it's the worst Arsenal team of the past 15 years.
read the whole interview and then decide what he is trying to say to his manager at Barcalona.he's learnt tactical sides of the game he never even knew existed while he was at Arsenal.

Re: The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?
we sold Vieira and Henry at the right time. Don't see what's 'arrogant' about taking top dollar for Na$ri when he wasn't signing. Cesc wanted to go home - how on earth is that 'arrogance' on Wenger's part?Babatunde wrote:Wenger has won nothing in Seven years. this is BS - Cesc has had a catastrophically unsuccessful season. They failed in the league and the CL. Don't think Barca fans, players, board and resignation handing in coach were happy with one-off charity shield style baubles. Arsenal got to a final and a semi with RVP at the club.Babatunde wrote:If RVP takes a quick look at the three first teamers who left Arsenal last summer, what will he see?
1. Cesc Fabregas won three trophies. Might not be the biggest but they are trophies. Cesc also played in a CL semi, sthg Robin has never done,
every player that leaves ANY football club - whether its the failed YTS kid gone to Fleetwood or the superstar nicked by Barca - will say how his new environment suits him, whether its regular gametime in the bluesquare or the technical quality of la liga.Babatunde wrote:and Cesc has come out and said he's learnt tactical sides of the game he never even knew existed while he was at Arsenal.
2. Samir Nasri. He's steadily become a very influential player for Citeh. Again, yet another player who left Arsenal and claimed that he has learnt far more about the tactical side of the game, sthg he couldn't get under Wenger. Nasri is playing with better players, and is on the verge of picking up a league title. Oh he also earns £170k a week.
Clichy has returned to the form of 07-09. He was excellent for years at Arsenal, at one point arguably our best player. He undeniably lost form, went stagnant but why did Citeh buy him? Not because he had always been a liability...Babatunde wrote:3. Gael Clichy. What happened to the liability we used to watch at Arsenal? He's been one of the best left backs in the league this season. Amazing what solid tactical defensive coaching can do to a player eh?![]()
Clichy at Citeh is on the verge of also picking up a league title.
unlike... no I'll just leave thatBabatunde wrote:So you see, RVP is no fool.
maybe you should write to him and say he has no business staying at a club he's always wanted to play forBabatunde wrote:His career is not best served staying at Arsenal. If its just a comfort zone where he walks into the team every week and isn't pushed for competition, and earns big money then he'll stay.
But Robin is a fighter and a winner.
Winners have no business at a club where manager and fans celebrate 3rd place, and where finishing above Spuds is the highlight of the season!
RVP has essentially said hasn't made up his mind, I believe him.Babatunde wrote:RVP will go. Podolski ain't enough to change a whole failing club mentality where seven years have passed and nothing works. Robin can see that. And if he looks at those who've left, they're ALL better off in their new clubs.
Fully expect a £30 mil deal to Citeh to be confirmed at the eleventh hour on August 29th, after we've already dropped points in the league...
I don't see Podolski being our only signing.
I don't see how you can possibly have access to RVP's inner thoughts
and I definitely don't think ALL those who have left are better off, a truly bizarre claim. Over what period are you making this massive statement for? Just last summer? Have you phoned and chatted to Eboue, Emmanuel-Thomas, Denilson, Nordveit et al about their new clubs? Barca are in flux - who knows what will happen under Villanova - if Mourinho wins a hat-trick of league titles the Cesc signing could be seen as disatrous. ManShitty can still win the league, they can still win nothing - for half-a-billion pounds - and the new manager could build a whole new team with no place for Na$ri. You are wildly speculating about the future and selling it as fact
Re: The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?
Some points from myself
:
1. Cesc has had a good season. Fitted in well with his team mates, scored plenty of goals. Its up to pep to choose how to fit him in. Barca suffered losing Villa and Abidal, and i believe that has been theirbiggest problem in matching the consistency of madrid. Without Villa their finishing is poor.
2. RVP, i agree, will base his decision on the ambition of the club. If wenger + board couldn't be bothered to invest in the team when Cesc was around highly unlikely they'll do it for RVP.
3. RVP is a striker and a very good one, but he is replaceable. Is arsenal going to cease to exist because a top player leaves?
4. Nothing will change unless the board and Kroenke actually state we must win a trophy. They'll try and do just enough to keep current income levels. They have successfully persuaded paying gooners that CL place is now our level.
5. If Liverpool can win the the FA Cup whats our excuse?

After today I'd say it's pretty nailed on that he will leave.
Re: The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?
I look forward to Higbury JD and the other comedians on the circuit posting some more inane excuse-making guff.
Again, I shall be proved correct.
How I laughed when I read 'this is the club of Robin's heart'

I guess you never know, but even as a gooner, if I was in his position I'd leave. Why waste the best years of your career playing for a team as tactically inept as Arsenal?Chippy wrote:After today I'd say it's pretty nailed on that he will leave.

But, he might like being the big fish and being captain, so you never know.
Re: The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?
Who could fucking blame him for wanting to leave this shambles. Just like Cesc last year, he deserves a club that will match his ambition...

If he stays with us he'll end up like Le Tiss - big fish, small pond.Dan_85 wrote:Who could fucking blame him for wanting to leave this shambles. Just like Cesc last year, he deserves a club that will match his ambition...
Maybe he'll get a job on Sky Sports...........

Imagine what league position our shower of shit will finish next seasin minus RVP?
Champions League will be a pipe dream, no chance. Languishing around 10th-13th place all season I reckon. Podolski must be off his rocker to sign.

Someone else would have been the point of the team and scored goals, even Chamakh scored well when he knew he was the main striker before Robin came back, if Robin leaves someone else will step up.
We have a set up which benefits a centre forward.

Re: The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?
If RVP decides to leave after today then I cannot blame him. He pulled us out of the abyss this afternoon only to turn around and see his midfield and defense implode! If he had an offer from Madrid/Barca/Bayern then he would be foolish to turn it down as he will never win a trophy or play in the Champions League with us for quite some time! I wish I could support a team with the likes of Cesc, Xavi and Messi but Arsenal is in my blood and I have no other choice but to stick by my team through thick and thin its not optional!
RVP thanks for the memories and your heroic efforts for The Arsenal this season and good luck at your new club you deserve success!
