Lineker on MOTD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I wish to complain once again about the petty mindless childishness of Gary Lineker on Match of the Day. His bitter impersonation of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was both xenophobic and offensive. Will he be doing a Scottish impersonation of Kenny Daglish or Alex Ferguson in the near future? Or perhaps a Spanish version of Roberto Martinez? Lest we forget, this is the infantile presenter who once closed a World Cup match featuring Brazilian great Ronaldo: "Well, he may floss his teeth with rope, but..."
The old boys network of Match of the Day has long been a tiresome feature of Saturday nights, but Lineker has succeeded in taking it to new lows.
Please can this nasty 'little' man be taken off our screens and replaced with a presenter who actually presents the programme, and doesn't try to impose onto it his own prejudice and unpleasantness.
I was working 12 hour nights over the (long) week-end, could someone tell me what the jug eared *word censored* said (verbatim if possible) so I can complain as well - agree 1,000% about the MotD old boys (read FARTS) network/closed shop...time they got shot pf hanson & co - bunch of wankers.

theres a youtube link on this thread OBG. lineker is indeed a c u n t
Cheers REB just watched it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWO0mtwpjO8

and it is indeed for me a clear case of jugear cunto doing something he would NEVER do to fergie or mancini etc...he'd be too afraid to...can you imagine what the Beeb would do having only just got fergie to agree to interviews with them...

Lineker = *word censored*.

"Shots of football managers and their behaviour on the touchline have long been a source of good-natured humour across our output and elsewhere."

This is true but for a so called proffesional football commentator to mimick a PL manager on live TV is nothing less than disrespectful to the manager whoever it maybe. As has been said would he do it about anyother manager?

Just thought i would change tack a little bit and sent this

Following the antics at the end of the programme can we look forward to Lineker and Hansen reinacting the antics of Ferguson and Mancini in next weeks programme. Perhaps they could feature a charades section with Lawrenson as the judge as he seemed to enjoy the attack on Wenger so much.

Aaaaaw poor lil Arsene! They did some naughty mocking gestures to papa Wenger, it's sooooo evil and RACIST!
At least Gooner Dixon does his job properly eh? (so when he singled Tevez out for his celebration lady week was it racist too? )

It's hilarious reading all the indignation launched at Lineker here. Precious Arsene rightfully, had the piss ripped out of him for acting like an arrogant petulant clown in a puffer jacket. Simples. Had it been DiMatteo being mocked, none of you would care. I went to Stamford Bridge last season and heard Arsenal fans singing HIV songs at Cashley. Arsenal fans also sing that offensive racist chant to Adebayor. As well as a song mocking a tragedy where his team-mates died.

The defence? "it's a bit of fun"

Fine.

So shut it and accept that the once Messianic Wenger is now nothing more than a clown, and an object of ridicule with no class. It's so unseemly of ANY Arsenal manager getting into massive spats with a small time tool like Pulis, and developing a huge rivalry with Stoke

It's small- time, but then again, ours is now a small-time club where 3rd ahead of the Spuds is considered the msnsger's "greyest achievement

Lineker was having a bit of fun, and I for one thoroughly laughed at it. Wenger is pathetic. £7 mil a year and precious minions wrote in to the BBC. Yet, when the BBC make false news reports justifying torture and reasons for state aggression, none of you social justice warriors will ever write in eh? Nah who wants to defend the little oppressed people fae away.

Much better to fight for an incompetent lying overpaid swine, who makes a living being mediocre in a cosseted bubble. What a farcical state of affairs.

I like the way you completely ignored the substance of my point: the time you spend writing in pathetic complaints because someone made a non-offensive classroom joke at the expense of this deity...were you similarly outraged and take the time to write to the BBC when they claimed El-Baradei suspected that Saddam had WMD? Did you write in to the BBC to complain of the derogatory portrayal of African society on Comic Relief?

Of course you didn't!

What matters in the world, is potent defences of some inept clown who acts like a 5 year old throwing a strop every week.

It's not even hatred. It's sheer sneering at those outraged enough by something so inconsequential, the same ones who won't even have a clue about the same broadcaster making false news reports replete with bias and lies on serious issues.

Still. Think I just got too complex for you there.

Arsene Knows.
Words I'm sure you'll understand! ;)

I don't believe that any Arsenal fan has a problem with the imitating of Wenger by the Stoke crowd, or do Arsenal fans have a problem with BBC highlighting it. In fairness it was funny. What I and many people seem to have a problem with is Lineker's beheaviour at the end of the programme. His voice was full of venom. He was disrespectful to Wenger and by extention to our Club. Regardless of my or anyone's feelings towards Wenger that was wrong. It hasn't happened with other managers. It didn't happen wwith Ferguson and Mancini on Monday. RTE (Irish TV) done the same thing after we lost a Champions League game at Anfield in '08. Liam Brady was a pundit and he lost it with the presenter. He refused to take part in the following day's programme because of the direspect shown to Wenger and his (Brady's) Club.
I would like Wenger to step down as much as the next Gooner, but we cannot forget what he has done for Arsenal and for football. Arsene Wenger done more to transform football in England in the last 20 years than anyone else. The BBC and Sky have made a fortune marketing the game in that time. Would it have been as marketable as it has been without Foreign players and coaches.? Wenger and Henry or Big Sam and Lee Bowyer..?
I want Wenger to go not because I hate him, but because his time has run it's course and his continuing to be there is to the detriment of Arsenal. The longer he stays with the club in it's current limbo the harder it will be to remember his achievements.
On the Lineker issue I believe Arsene and Arsenal deserve better than that.

WMD = a news story all channels broadcast
Comic Relief = helps African society , it doesn't belittle them.

You've gone off track Baba !!
