Can't help but feel that RVP and his agent seriously misjudged the level of interest shown by top clubs to sign him when they came out with that statement. They must have been expecting a bid from Real or Barca. I don't think he intended to join United but given City and Juventus were the only other clubs in for him neither he or Arsene had much choice. I think he could and would have gone to City if they came up with a better offer, the italian league and juve might not have been the most appealing of destinations, so United it was.

whats wrong with insisting on moving abroad?
Dont blame any player wanting away from the steaming pile of apathetic shite that Arsenal PLC has become.
He wants succes, trophys, a manager that matches his ambitions, a club with a chance to win big, 200k per week.

:rubchin: He'll not get that at our small minded little club. Why the fcuk should he move abroad? Maybe he doesn't want to eh? He scores when he wants, remember? He'll do what he wants and he'll play for whatever club he wants and fcukin fair play to him. Move abroad - just cause we dont want him in a UTD shirt. I'm pissing meself laughing.

The fact that he moved to utd IMO proves that it was money before winning trophies, and thats why he will never be welcomed back. I hope he wins feck all their, he lives in self denial if he honestly thinks hes going their to win trophies, thats as moronic as eboue used to be.

Totally agree with you disgraceful to sell him to manure but apparently he didnt want to go to city or juve so the choices were manure, or stick him in the reserves for his last year, or and this is arsenals favourite take the money because we are not a club interested in trophies its all about the dollar.IMO if wenger was so reluctant to sell him to manure why didnt he just tell the pr bullshitter ivan and stayaway stan, ill resign if he is sold to manure but i suppose when it comes down to it, principles go out the window when you earn allegedly 7m a year.

That's what some people have said but as far as I'm aware he's gone to United because Juve and City didn't get near the asking price.

I don't like selling players for profits any more than you do, but keeping a disillusioned selfish childish wanker who would probably become disruptive for a season instead of taking £24m for him doesn't make sense to me, regardless of the fact it may strengthen United. At the end of the day money in the bank isn't going to win you any points whatsoever, but the money we've paid out for 3 very promising players was going to be recouped somewhere, better to be a player who doesn't want to be here than have to sell somebody else next year. (And yes, before you say it would be better to sell the dross we all know exists at our club or to fund the transfers with on-field success but that's not going to happen is it?).

thats the most common misconception around.

we dont make huge profits. we make small profits and that is only yhr case when u take into account player trading. (i mean selling)

if we didnt make big money on sales every year we would not turn a profit, we would turn a significant loss.
imo this completely undermines our model. the model is crap it really is. if it were good, we would be turning a profit excluding play tradfing activity. i dont believe we do.

it only works if we sell. by following this model we will only ever be a mid size selling club. the only way to compete in this day and age is with a sugardaddy.
Any billionares happen to be on the forum right now? 8)

What difference does that make we've already got 2 that own 96% of the club between them?
Might be able to afford that rvp 100 goals dvd now. He's ruined that legacy. Note to club commercial dept. never, ever release a dvd of a player until they have retired no matter what they have achieved at the club.
Bet podolski gets to 100 goals before he's 29.

It's going to kill me a little inside when I see the first picture of Robin holding up his plaid, shitty red wanker MUFC shirt with his name on the back.

However, I really feel like Arsenal will have the last laugh on this deal. Time will tell.

the munich fans moan about their owners BUT they have a manager who has got the balls to take decisive decisions. they have brought a quality player and left a "rival" weaker as a result. we can call rvp what we like but he has made the right decision by him and his family as a result.

for me he had to go but the shambolic way it was done is down to the manager and him alone.
