Quartz. I'm asking an honest question here: what did Benayoun do on loan for us?
I remember: a super goal at home to Norwich, erm...oh yeah a goal at Olympiakos in the group stages, and a jammy goal away to WBA. I don't see what he did, did nothing vs Citeh, Manure, and the proper teams we faced. Utter waste of wages imo?

I also don't get this: Sol Campbell WALKED OUT of Arsensl at HALF-TIME, in the middle of a match!!!
He just buggered off, having been given a dressing down by Nigel Mediocre FFS
Few years later, having been at errr Notrs County; Wenger brings him back!!
Worse still, most Arsenal fans hail it as a masterstroke, claiming it strengthened our defence bla bla etc.

So if it's ok for Sol to come back...you get me?

Priceless winner at Villa as well to be fair.

Lets be honest though he was on the fringes of the squad. A likeable guy and he did OK when he played. Better than I expected but that was because my expectations were at sub-zero levels

No more than average

Yes, and after he had made a dig at him after he left saying "Sol Campbell said that he wanted to go abroad". Surely our man-of-principle would never bring back such a rotter....

Baba - you constatntly go on about who the clubs soul has been lost - this cretin personifies disloyalty, defragmentation on a football level and being an utter c*t on a personal level.

I only want people who are commited to the cause to play - he is, and never will be, welcomed back.

Was he right to leave, probably given what he has won - but there is a way of doing it - Arsenal made him the player he is and he threw it back in the clubs face - he doesnt respect AFC - and for that reason alone he should not be welcomed back.

Forget what went on before (if you can) and judge him as a player, and compare to the current dross at left-back.
I think there could only be one answer here...
I would never welcome him back..!! Plus we'll never sign him in a millon years...

i'd take him back for $70k.

yes, he's an obnoxious phone riding twat but if he makes us better at a decent wage then fair enough.

saying he will ruin gibbs, means gibbs is not good enough imho.

Cashley will sign for PSG or Zenit though i'd bet. maybe even the MLS. him and the fat grannyshagger did a lot of drinking over there this summer.

Benayoun?

Scored a few goals in a few appearances.

Apart from the Swansea game when he was poor, he worked hard and created chances, seldom gave the ball away, good link play and generally a positive contribution, tryed to make things happen on the pitch rather than reacted to things happening.
Cost us wages only, and in my eyes better than Gervinho or Santos as a left midfield option.

I think you will find that your view of him is in the minority of Arsenal fans, not that a minority view is always wrong.

Regardless of how Campbell left the club, he did well when came back.
I do not care that he left at half time vs West Ham, he was obviously a troubled man and none of us know what was on his mind.

Benayoun was a good loan for a season. He always seemed to try hard and chase after the ball.

He was useful to have when Jack never returned and Aaron wasn't fit enough in the new year. Plus I still remember the headed goal against Villa to win the game.

he wouldn't be worth the effort and drama. He is only a LB. Hardly going to make much of a difference.

Hopefully a change in defending principles will reduce the goals we concede. If you think cashers will take us closer to the PL, think again.

And no I wouldn't cashers back for the FA Cup.

You do make an excellent case here though, is well put...
True club lost its soul. But until Wenger and Kroenke leave, it won't reclaim it. So I'm thinking to hell with this, at least win a pot or two in the meantime?

Like I said. Your point is defo valid put that way...

Yes anonymous online forum poster, it's always been a lifelong ambition to be validated on a forum
:lol

In case you hadn't noticed you're right Einstein, it's pretty fucking desperate at Arsenal these days, so much so that Portsmouth and McLeish have won more trophies than we have in an right year (almost) period!
We've sold for £135 mil since 2009 and the last remaining world class performer is gone to Fergie.
Oh did I mention that Sagna might jump too soon?

So asking whether a left back who happens to be a better defender than ANY current Arsenal squaddie, would/should join us isn't as desperate as ooooh lemme see...

Calling a fat pensioned Sol Campbell to come play in defence for us (alongside Silvestre) in the Nou Camp; or calling a crazy German keeper out of retirement to come help u save a few pennies; or perhaps selling your best player to a team that finished 19 pts ahead of you already!

Do some homework please dear child....
