CHELSEA AWAY THREAD
Re: CHELSEA AWAY THREAD
Hope this game is on as I know a couple of the Irish lads are coming over for it...

Praising the fans for going to games while putting up with all of the above then criticising them for paying for season tickets and at the same time taking advantage of those paid for season tickets and happily going along to "freebies"
Surely either go or dont go. The fact that your seat has not been paid for by you is neither here nor there. Or am I missing something?

I'm not sure why you're confused as it's pretty easy to follow.armchair supporter wrote:I'm confused.SteveO 35 wrote:My point is that our fans have put up with 8 years of nothing, seen their spiritual home turned into apartments, have largely filled the ground week in, week out, have been served a diet of Denilson, Bendtner, Vela, Flappy etc whilst paying £50-£100 every week......and on the whole have supported the team and the goon in charge pretty damn well, in comparison to clubs that have had far more success during that period.![]()

The other night the TV cameras made a massive point of panning around the ground and referring to the empty seats and I'm forever reading about how impatient our fans are and isolated incidents like the booing of Eboue and the Ox v Arshavin substitution etc. The reality is that ever since we moved ground we have filled up the stadium time after time whilst mythical superfan clubs like Liverpool have had League Cup attendances of just over 20,000 (including 6,000 from Northampton btw)
I have never ever criticised anyone on here for going to games if they are satisfied with the way the club is run and managed. What I can't understand is the constant bitching - hate Kroenke, hate Gazidis, hate Wenger, hate just about every player apart from Wilshere, hate the stadium, hate the prices, hate the kits, hate the food, hate the drink, hate the murals, hate the atmosphere - and then roll over and pay £1500+ for a season ticket. It's not a criticism of the fans, I just don't understand it.
Our fans have been very good on the whole. They've put up with high prices and poor management and 8 trophyless years whilst hardly raising an eyebrow. If that was going on at Old Trafford I'd love to see the fan reaction (they formed their own club before the Glazers had even been given a chance)
Not sure what's confusing about that.
Re: CHELSEA AWAY THREAD
Whats confusing is that you critisise season ticket holders, calling them "sheep". Then you gleefully take their ticket and sit in their seat when it suits you.
Every fan loves to have a moan. Its part of football, moaning, and I'm sure very few are "happy with the way the club is run and managed" I've yet to find a fan who completely happy with their club.
I've posted before of how I feel ST holders are criticised on here and it doesn't sit well with me that fans who pay their hard earned cash and make their choice are criticised for it.
Then to come along and take your friends ST as a freebie just after calling them "sheep"? Thats confusing to me.

The friends you are referring to are lifetime friends. People who I have known for 30 years+. People who I gladly gave my ST to back in the day (FOC) when I was spending a lot of time working abroad, people whose businesses I have set up and lent money to.....you know, proper friends. So there is no fucking criticism from me towards them and I don't call them sheep. They don't come on here like a lot of people moaning about every aspect of the club from the prices to the players to the owners to the managers. They let me use their tickets when they don't fancy going to a game or can't make it, in the same way I've done for other people for years......where's the problem with that?
I've made a personal choice not to give Kroenke Inc. thousands of pounds from my own pocket to watch him dismantle everything that was good about our club. I don't enjoy taking that position. I used to love going every week and one day when he's fucked off and the club is run properly for the fans as well as the majority shareholder I shall do so again.

I just dont understand how you can take a stand against Kroenke Inc, stop giving him your money, call those who do names, then happily take their seats when it suits. Thats all. If you are comfortable with that (and it seems you are) good. Your choice.
I can happily borrow someones ST and go to a game but I certaintly wouldn't then turn round and refer to him as a sheep.
Re: CHELSEA AWAY THREAD
This is a Chelsea match thread so in the interests of thread hijacking (something that certain people seem to specialise in) I'll end the debate here. I have never referred to one of my close, personal friends as sheep, but there are people who I think fit that category in the stadium - if you can't make that distinction i.e. not everybody is the same, then lets leave it there. I couldn't give a flying if you're comfortable with that or not. I'll let you win your little argument if it makes you happy. Well done youarmchair supporter wrote:

Re: CHELSEA AWAY THREAD
Back to the match - this is fucking crucial now. Liverpool have drawn level on points and before everyone says "2 games in hand", one is this one at Chelsea and the other is against West Ham which I expect us to struggle in.
That's before our europa league rivals West Brom have played today. Could be 7th again tomorrow

what's the weather like down in London today? I'm 60 miles north and it's snowing heavily. Doesn't look like stopping any time soon.

It's been snowing steadily, but not heavily since 8 am. About 2 inches of fresh snow in Notting Hill. Game will be okay but TFL are advising leaving early to get to the match. It won't be too bad around the ground though.
Like Steve0 says, it's crucial to get something from this match. The optimist in me says a lucky win for us. If we can get their crowd on Benny's back early doors it will enhance our prospects today.

Wouldn't it be ironic if both AC and SO35 found themselves next to one another at a/the game!?

YUP! what would also assist in this, is if the Gooners all sing "There's Only One Rafa Benitez"Top Londoner wrote:MK Gould wrote:what's the weather like down in London today? I'm 60 miles north and it's snowing heavily. Doesn't look like stopping any time soon.

Re: CHELSEA AWAY THREAD
Of late I am very "meh" about most of our games.....this game isn't one of them. I fcuking hate the chavs with their pikey captain, the fat pie eating media darling c**t in midfield and of course the phone loving judas scumbag
Most weeks the first goal is important but today it is absolutely vital - score first and the chavs scumbags will be all over the fat waiter and we could reap the benefits
