Jenko is a far superior crosser of a ball than Sagna - but that is the ONLY area he is better in. Sagna is ten times the defender that Jenko (currently) is. And for me a RB should look on defending as his priority and attacking as a secondary concern.

We should sign Sagna on for another 3 years in the hope Jenko can learn more about the art of defending from him, gradually replace him, and hopefully go on to establish himself as a top RB, which I think he has the potential to do. But at the moment it's all potential and he isn't good enough defensively to be a starter - for me anyway... :|

I have just read that Sagna is paid 60k p/w and has received the same since 2008. The article
states that we are offering a one year deal with the same wages, but that he wants a two year deal and a pay increase.
If this is the case then It's certain that he will leave because WENGER will not pay him more. I have no doubt about that.

WENGER OUT
A 2 year deal and an increase to say £80k isn't even being gready. Pay the man his worth.

Experience, commitment, solid tackler, good in the air, far superior to Jenkinson in everything except crossing.

I would be surprised if he's waited until now - at his age and after his injuries - to ask for a pay rise. He has been a very good player for us and always undisputably first choice ever since he joined.

What are you basing that on?

This perfectly sums up why we will never win anything else as long as Wanker is the manager. We have a quality team being assembled, that with a couple more signings will be very strong in the next few seasons, but we will be back to square one, when we start letting quality players like Sagna go, in favour of mediocrity like Jenkinson. Also, the idea that Jenkinson is a great crosser of the ball, is a myth, apart from his cross for Bendtner's goal against Hull, I cant think of any other occasion, when his crossing has been that good.

If the manager is as incompetent as you make out - why would Sagna want to stay? :?

You are obviously not watching much football then, mate!  Game after game (particularly in his first run of games last season) Jenko has whipped in numerous crosses at good height that didn't hit the first man, or go out for a throw in on the far side - the total opposite to Sagna and especially Gibbs. Accepted, Sagna's crossing has improved a bit this year but still he hits the first defender in the leg 8 or 9 times out of 10.

Also, no one has actully said he is a "great" crosser of the ball (I think), he's not perfect, but rather that he is the best at the club and far better than Sagna and Gibbs.

I'd also say that whilst Sagna is by far a better defender he offers us very little going forward nowdays, almost always prefering to check inside and/or pass backwards, rather then push on to the goal line and whip in a cross or take his man on. Jenko does offer that, but alas he is not great at taking his man on. Not yet, anyway...

Jenkinson is a great crosser of the ball
Podolski is lazy
Abou's only played about 50 games for Arsenal

"keeping his options open" apparently.

Looks like he is putting himself in the shop window at the world cup and is angling for a move away. Why oh why do the buffoons running this club insist on letting their player assets run their contracts down and get a better hand. Morons
