Should we make a cheeky bid for Jamie Vardy in Jan

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Giroud
Welbeck
Walcott

Vardy

He's as good as any of the above. Why not give him a go.

I don't think it would be cheeky to bid for him. I just think AW would make a stupid bid like £7m so it's kinda hypothetical.

Can he pass the ball sideways until his bollocks explode? :rubchin:

Nope.

Fast, counter-attacking type would be given short shrift by Wenger.

English too.

I like Gnabry too. Who had a fucking brainwave to loan him out to mid-table dross so that he could rack up 13 minutes in the first 3 and a half months of the season? Sheer fucking idiocy.
the same fucker who loaned out jenkinson then played a rusty debuchy on the right
He is fucking miles better than Joel Campbell. Unfortunately for him Wenger has invested far too much in Campbell by bigging him up and using him as justification over the last 3 or 4 years for not signing strikers. Wenger's ego won't let him concede that Campbell is never going to be good enough and we will have to endure him pissing around on the wing until about 2018.

Meanwhile a genuinely talented, dangerous young winger rots on the bench in the Black Country. Although hopefully he won't go anywhere near as far backwards there as Chamberlain has gone in the last two seasons here.

Vardy, Ings, Michu, Carroll - one hit wonders. Leicester won't finish in the top 10.

It would be nice to give him a go, but TOF would never sign him in a million years.

We will never sign another Ian Wright-type signing while TOF is at the club and that's sad. We must be the snobbiest club in football.

Wenger might enquire as to the price of getting Vardy, then go in with a derisory offer and put there backs so as they won't sell to us

he will sign no one January, the guy is a maniac

We got the new signings coming back....Wellbeck, Wiltshire....etc.....

I've always felt that his cousin, Shropshire, was a better player.

Holding onto Michu and Vorm ultimately cost Laudrup his job.

Vorm leaving has fcuked him up big time cos he is too good to sit on the scum bench all the time - another international career fcuked up by a player chasing the ££££

I still think that laudrup is a good manager and I would like to see him manage a big club to see HOW good he is

broken rvn's goal record. this talk about him being another andy johnson is hilarious, the lad is quality.

seems to be a bit of a prejudice against english players that work their way up the ladder, they deserve respect any foreign star who has had a pampered existence being dropped into a succesful side and scores goals does.

I'm not sure anyone on this thread has said he's another Andy Johnson and I can't say I've noticed any prejudice based on his route to the top.

Most comments on here (and in the media) seem very positive to me.

Still haven't seen much of him but Wenger comparing his work rate to Sanchez is high praise indeed given that he's proving to be a real goalscorer and posted a quicker speed that Bellerin this season. Good stuff.
