Should we make a cheeky bid for Jamie Vardy in Jan
Very results orientated, but I like Vardy and think he could be even more clinical for us than he is at Leicester. I could see Ozil putting him in on goal for fun.
Surely £20m would do it.

Le Bell End would turn him from a red hot, in form striker to an injury prone, error riddled winger.
No thanks.

Haven't watched Leicester at all this season really so can't comment much on his individual performances or whether his goal scoring would likely transfer with him - although I am very sceptical.
Not much chance of a cheeky bid though, given the understandable press hype and the country on his passport Leicester would demand a kings ransom.

I like the guy but have the same reservations about how he'd do for us. Firstly as Rodders mentions, given that Wally and 50 Pence Head are already two of Wenger's love children he would be relegated to the Podolski left wing back role, and secondly Leicester would be asking £35m+ for him in this day and age. No doubt when he wins the 'golden boot' we'll hear how very close we were to signing him but that Fleetwood wanted a dizzying price of £2m

He's proven himself in the prem, he's quicker than Giroud can head the ball, he's direct and more clinical than wally. Look at his work rate for Leicester, both him and sanchez would be great in tandem. He would give ozil lot's of passing options.SteveO 35 wrote:I like the guy but have the same reservations about how he'd do for us. Even if he cost £35m we could afford him, he is in his prime. Pool are after him, normally I would say they ruin the player but Klopp has already started working his magic. Don't let him go to pool get him down to the emirates imo.

Christ yes, we would never have bought Wrighty if we adopted a snobbish we're too good for him approach. The boy is an out and out goal scorer and probably avoids injury because he gets stuck in rather than using the tossy 'dangle a foot' style tackle we see from our own. I would give him a go without a doubt but Wenger wouldn't buy him because he would show up his previous strike force decisions as the load of old shite they are.

I think we is far better than anything we have now. People would not adopt the same snobbery if his name was Juan Varde and he was scoring goals for Malaga. It's a case of some ruffian from the northern leagues having a good spell for some. But he is a top striker, make no mistake.
But the way he plays his game is the polar opposite to Arsenal these days. He runs at defenders with no fear, and often shoots on site. We need someone like giroud who can hold the ball up for 30 minutes, then fall over. It's apparently called "beautiful football".

Good player in great current form but given he's at the peak of his powers we aren't going to pay the top money anyway.

Do you have a responsible adult around who can proof-read your posts for you?Henry Norris 1913 wrote:But the way he plays his game is the polar opposite to Arsenal these days. Arsenal have the highest number of shots on goal of all 20 teams this season, you clown.

Why would he leave a title-challenging team to play for perennial also-rans? Unless he fancies a bit of our fourth place glory? Oh how we celebrate on glory days like these..........

To sign Vardy would "kill Sanogo" and Sanogo is the future
