We were robbed in Paris as Eto’s goal was offside. Any proper Gooner knows this.

Don’t let your bitterness blind you to what actually happened in 2006.
  What “bitterness” you prat. You’re clearly the bitter one, finding all sorts of excuses and blaming refs, fixtures, “timing” and anything else you can think of for us coming up short. How about being a grown up about it rather than thinking like a 10 year old.

As for Eto being offside, have you ever noticed Eboue’s Olympic style dive for the free kick that Sol scored from? Nah, that requires an adult mind.
Talking of prat’s. I think you meet the definition of a c unt. Someone who hates Arsenal and wants to be a Newcastle fan. Now that is a proper c unt.

Retro Wanker reckons when Henchoz handballed it on the line against the Scousers in 2001 we actually just bottled it. Can’t believe I’ve been thinking we got robbed for all these years. I bet he was in the stadium too, which makes his opinion 10x anyone outside of it. What a guy.

So many rows on this thread I'll just ask everyone to try please keep it civil. I don't mind a flare up every now and then and accept it can happen when discussing something as passionate as football, but there are rules against personal abuse, lads.

My tuppence on a couple things "football related" that were mentioned.

We were not robbed in Paris. I too was at that game and was proud of the effort that our team put in, especially after the fucking moron cùnt Lehmann got himself stupidly sent off so early to again directly cost us the CL by his own retarded actions (see chavs 2004). Stupid attention seeking cùnt. :censored:

Wenger completely shit the bed taking Pires off and leaving the Circle Dribbler Hleb on, not bringing on the one player that could have summoned something special to win it (Bergkamp), and by starting the hung over out of shape little chav cùnt Cashley Ahole after the little prick had spent the previous week on the lash with his chav bumchums Racist Terry and Fat Fwank. :censored:

Henry also shit the bed on two one on ones with the keeper, goals that he'd score with his eyes closed in a regular PL match but never seemed to score in big finals or often enough in huge games, giving rise to the belief he was a big game bottler.

As for their slightly offside goal? For me that was completely offset by the embarrassing dive that Comedy Eboue took to win the free kick for our goal. So, yes VAR would have ruled that goal out, but it would also have ruled out the free kick leading to our goal for diving. Comedy would also have been off for a second yellow putting us down to 9 men.

Some Arsenal fans just go through life wearing rose tinted spectacles and never see the real world.

As a much missed poster would have commented "ooh look at all the gays fighting"

I've never rewatched the 2006 final, I can't bring myself to do it, if ever there is a clip of it on tv I immediately switch over.

Oh yeah what was the question, are Arsenal well run, of course they are, I suppose the title of worst run will go to manure who are a mess.

Looking through the thread (nice quote towers btw 8) ) I think most of the answers are to the wrong question, that question being who is the least ambitious big pl club.

As someone who embraces modern technology "answers on a postcard to the usual address"

People laughed at me in the past when I suggested this but again I will say I am convinced we came closer to winning the CL in 2004 than 2006. Yeah ridiculous comment I know , we were in the 2006 final but lost in the 2004 quarter final..However in 2004, in my opinion , we were a much better team than 2006, the biggest test is a 38 game league, in 2004 we walked to the title whereas in 2006 we scraped into fourth place.
We got a good result at Stamford Bridge in the first leg, and we were the better team at Highbury in the first half of the second leg. Our keeper let us down badly and then we didn't know whether to stick or twist. Rest is history.
The run to the final in 2006 was brilliant, it tied in with the Final Salute to Highbury, but the league form was disguised by it all , and the reality in hindsight was thar Arsenal had fallen so far behind Chelsea and subsequently Manchester United that not winning the final brought home a double reality, we were no longer challengers and we no longer had Highbury.
I thought, for the first time back then, that Wenger let himself down in the post match press conference. He was ungracious claiming an offside while conveniently overlooking Eboue's outrageous dive to win the free for our goal.
He had one more decent shot at a title in 2007/08 but in the end we came up short..Not getting a single point at the other two challenges was significant in that.

Ah, the old straw man argument comes out again. Funnily enough I was in Cardiff for the game, but that's not required to be more clued up than a clown like you.

Careful with opinions like that, you'll be accused of being an Arsenal hating, Newcastle supporting c unt.

As for abuse, he's been a wind up since he appeared on here and is more intent on antagonising and making smart arse remarks than he is about exchanging opinions. Fuck him.

I agree 100% tbh. That 2004 CL should have been ours. That team had everything. But Lehmann, great shot stopper that he was, was a complete idiot when it came to decision making and wanting to be the hero all the time. Remember him trying his best to get sent off at the swamp when we were chasing the title win and the unbeaten season.

While I agree with both of you in terms of the quality of the team in 2004 and it being there for us...the "timing" if you will  ....I have serious doubts that Wenger would have engineered a victory over Mourinho's horrible Porto side in the final, assuming we'd got past Monaco. That Porto side took the old "dark arts" to a completely new level. Wenger could never handle Mourinho's teams.

That's a fair point. But I think it was early enough in Moron-hio's career of being a cùnt, and still not so far down the road of Wenger's later demise, that possibly we would have beaten them. But I suppose my main point of contention is that Lehmann fucked us in both seasons with his glory hunting attention seeking shit decision making. I'll never forgive the prick for it either. :censored:
