The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If he wants to go and work for FIFA then he can spend all day moaning about FFP but he's far too concerned about what's going on elsewhere. They've signed a 36 year old past-it lump, they haven't sneaked Lionel Messi into their squad. Why does he always feel that it's his responsibility to whine about this? Doesn't come off well and if he wants to get written off as a moaning troublemaker - like the FA/English media have been on a global scale by FIFA - he's doing a brilliant job.
Surely you can see his point though? It's hardly whining to be talking about fairness in the game. If that's troublemaking then there's really no hope. Lampard may be a 36 year old but who's to say next time it won't be. We both commented on Chelsea's "loan business" and this is just as bad.
I agree. The alternative is that nobody says anything and clubs like Citeh continue to exploit the loopholes.
Keeping quiet about these things is tantamount to supporting cheating. At least he has the balls to say something about it and draw attention to it. I bet Citeh are propoer pissed off at the journo for raising it as an issue. Up until then it had slipped under the radar.

It's the same with the England versus FIFA issue. They can call us whiners but we know that it is corrupt to the core. If it wasn't they would be doing more than calling us Whiners, they'd have us in a coutroom. If their only response to being accused of fundamental corruption at all levels of their organisation is to call us whiners then we have clearly hit on a raw nerve with them.
It's only by people being bold enough to stand up and say "you cheat" that cheats will stop behaving as they do. If we all say nothing then it will continue and likely get worse.

A planted question perhaps ? Seems way, way too convenient for a journo to ask a question phrased like that and for le cock to have his answer ready. No other manager was asked the question (about possible sinister crooked motives) over the weekend so why was wenker asked about it ? :rubchin:

I also get your point about the need for somebody to raise the issue of the possibility of an end around FFP but why is it always le cock who does so ? Because he feels that he is an authority on all things footie, he pushes himself forward as the saviour who will always fight the good fight but the problem is, when you hear the same voice over and over, you stop listening to the valid points being made
Sounds like you're speaking from experience :rubchin: 8)

Tony Leen mentioned that the gap between the asking price and what we're willing to pay has narrowed as well.

You can trust O Jogo, biggest newspaper in Portugal and not known for printing bollocks.

how do you know 'o jogo' is not known for printing bollox? are you an expert on the portugese printed media?
Yeah I am.

He doesn't have a problem with Pellegrini as they both seem to get on and as well as Fat Rafa all think Maureen is a :censored: that geta an easy ride from our sycophantic media.

The same question was put to The :censored: but so far it hasn't been put to Pellegrini which shows you what the agenda is.

It just amazes me that our questions-happy media have missed all these little ditties they could have put to the :censored:

Why couldn't the most expensively assembled squad ever won a trophy
Why couldn't he win a trophy, any trophy with almost the same squad that little old Di matteo and Fat Rafa won back to back European trophies with.

If Jack Wilshire is a bad example to young players then what sort of example is he setting when,he assaults Tito Villanova or alters his name in a press conference so it comes out as c**t

If you think those questions are aggressive, they aren't much different to the type Pellegrini, Fat Rafa and even AW sometimes get asked.

O Jogo also stating that a crucial difference is that we're offering to pay the fee in one full payment this time rather than in installments. They believe that will seal it for us because Sporting are desperate for some cash for their own transfer dealings.

If only we had an over zealous poster on here that reads portuguese newspapers and watches football from around the globe 24/7 that might believe that .

Here's something a bit leftfield, Khedira's agent trying to drum up interest coupled with Real trying to get rid before he leaves on a free. Sporting worried they won't be able to flog Carvalho even at a knocked down price.

Afc just played a game that showed glaringly how they could do with DM badly.....all leads to frenzied tw*tter bo**ocks for the next few weeks.
