Great result and I'm delighted for Welbeck.
It still feels like we're staggering along without much cohesion though. We've been playing like strangers in recent months (mainly because of the injuries to Cazorla and Coquelin) and I'm not sure whether we'll be able to sort it out in time for us to make a charge for the title.
Still, 12 games to go and some much needed good form will be required to get through these tricky away games. Sp*rs, Lecester and Citeh have tough games too so it's not all bad news when looking at the fixture list.
Not confident at all, but it's hardly a lost cause so I remain optimistic.
By the way, nice to see substitutions that have a real impact. Theo did well and Welbeck's goal was perfect in every way
As for the ref...
1. the foul on Ozil was clear to see - shocking that he missed it
2. it was not a penalty but I don't blame the ref too much. It was clever cheating by Vardy; I reckon most refs would give it. Monreal gift wrapped it for him though.
3. Sending off was very harsh. I'm sure he was trying to even up the contest after the penalty.
4. How did he miss the leg breaker? - surely a 3 match ban awaits????
5. I hate it when refs blow up and stop us playing on or taking quick free kicks. We lost the advantage on several occasions because of the pedantic refereeing.
6. I wouldn't have given a pen for any of those handballs either. Benefit of the doubt. Play on.
