Groundhog summer transfer window thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Now worries. We have Podolski.

Peace
We do. But he can't play the lone striker role and we won't budge from 4-5-1. Even when he eventually gets back to full fitness he'll be a bit part player and remain banished to the left wing.

Everytime I see a pic of that metro reporter (jamie sanderson) I dismiss the story cos I just cant take him seriously looking like that
Glad I'm not the only one who notices...

Why do you say that? He has played the #9 role before. Successful too.

Is this guy coming? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1886 ... -griezmann

Do we need another winger?

Peace

Not for us he hasn't. In fact after Giroud lumbering around there for most of last season a lot of people on here were crying out every week for Podolski to get a chance there but when he did he was even worse!

Also it's not a typical #9 role, our formation is probably more demanding on the striker than any other team in Europe.

Well I bet you Lord Wenger will not buy a CF and he will have to play that role when used. Agree that we don't use a typical #9 CF and also on the workload part...

Peace
